Even though I'm generally open to uniform variations, I gotta say, the visuals of the black unis just didn't do anything for me. A little disappointing because I expected them to. Maybe it was just me or maybe they should have been rolled out with a bigger venue, I don't know, but I was underwhelmed. I think they should have been saved for Ole Miss or GA. What say you?

My personal opinion is that daylight did them no justice. Under the stadium lights at night, it would have been a sight to behold.

Bright daylight works better with lighter uniform choices.

I don't know, the only thing I care about is the optics; this just seemed to be an odd and ineffective time to roll out those unis. They were a non-mention on TV, the roll out was just...meh. When Kiffin rolled them out after warm ups on Halloween, it was 'OMG'! Today what was it? I don't know, I wasn't there.

The players, and hopefully our targeted recruits, loved them and that is really all that matters. Heupel’s making football fun for our guys, and that, along with the necessary hard work, usually translates into wins.

I tend to like gray better than black. Of course, nothing beats orange. I do think the players voices need to be heard. Pull out gray and black once a year or in rotating years.

They were fine but I thought the orange was off a shade. Or maybe the black just made it appear neon orange...
One last thing. I would like to see a more consistent look.
You had black socks, orange socks. Black and orange socks. Etc.

I like them and more importantly the players liked them. They said yesterday was a big recruiting day for TN
Yesterday should serve UT well with recruiting. Look at how many players have had their number called this year and stepped up to the plate, look at Turnage, Whitehead. and others.
Coaches are coaching these kids and it shows

Me? I'm glad we won the game, the unis can't do that if they're empty.

I was ok with them, but I think they needed to come out at night and with a matte black helmet. My 84 year old father-in-law loved them, I was shocked he hated the smokey gray's and is a huge traditionalist.

Agreed and there are other teams both college and NFL that wear dark color jerseys. Non issue.
If anyone is hot and bothered it would be The Pride of the South. Those band uniforms are hear and hot. My son when he was in band they went to T shirts with school logos during football games because they were hot, only wore them during comps and Homecoming. He was the drumline captain and said he hated wearing that harness under those heavy hot uniforms

The white helmets provided too much contrast for me. The helmets should be orange or black.

They looked better than I expected but a night game would have helped. Not a fan of the look overall but I am not the one wearing them.

Should have done a truly all-black uniform with a black helmet. I thought they would have used white trim around the orange characters too. That would have made it pop. It wasn’t a horrible alternate uniform but the Smokey Grey uniform looks better IMO.

If the uniform change made the players/recruits happy, I'm all for it. It really doesn't matter what we think, as long as the players like them. I did hear a drunk cock fan coming in, he felt the need to scream "wearing black feels pretty good doesn't it vols." ....Didn't much care for that....

Are we really having this conversation today? The uniforms are not for the fans; they are for the players! If they love them, I'm all in!
