I have said it before and I will say it again. There will be QB's that emerge as world beaters over the course of their senior seasons. While I readily admit that in most cases the 5 star guys are identified early, there are always, always, excellent prospects that come to the light as they mature during their last year. You will see Rivals put 4 stars on guys that arent even ranked right now.

i agree there are so many prospects out there that are still not rated that will have big senior years and start to get noticed

and they will rank future Heisman winners 3*. I would guess 99% of college coaches are better talent evaluators than anyone on Rivals payroll

The majority of "talent evaluators" at Rivals and Scout have never coached.

Until we get some talent and depth on the O line it wouldn't matter if Johnny U was under center. I'm just not all that concerned with it right now.

I really thought you were talking about our current QB situation until the last sentence of this post

So it's purely coincidence that the best teams in the country are consistently at the top of the recruiting rankings year in and year out?

About as coincidental as it is that Rivals and Scout give the most "stars" to the prospects with the most impressive offer lists.

Now I'll buy that...but I still think there's more to recruiting rankings than some want to admit...

Case-in-hand...Steve Spurrier...

The man's a football genius/god at Florida...he can barely win 8 games at USClite...

I'm sure I'm over-simplifying that to an extent but I do believe it's no coincidence that the best teams are loaded with 4-5 star players

Rather than look at stars I have always looked at who is offering. IMO that's a true indicator of projected ability. You have to believe that coaches get to where they are by judging talent and even they are way wrong occassionnaly. Brian Darden anyone?

Absolfreakinlutely. The Vols oline hasn't performed up to the standards expected for several years now.
