Looking at this website by American Express I am utterly amazed. I think it is some kind of campaign by which the money is awarded to charities according to what charity or idea gets the most votes. Top 2 leaders in this round:

1) Plant a million trees
2) Restore our US national parks

speaking of drinking water....did you hear about the guy that developed an inexpensive filtered "straw" that allows people to drink directly (and safely) from African lakes and streams?
