I can't believe we are doing this again. The other two times we did it were two of the most gut-wrenching 4th quarter losses I have ever seen (2014 Florida and 2015 Oklahoma). I can't take another game like that.

When it comes to sports, superstition is real (and there is plenty of scientific evidence to back that up - do your research ). I for one would rather have a victory than to have the stadium "look cool."

So I am going to start a movement. Join me and don't be afraid of the naysayers! Together we can break the losing streak that is checkerNeyland. I will be in my section that is supposed to be white wearing Volunteer orange! (Or perhaps the grey, which does look nice).

By stopping it only proves to Florida we are afraid of them (and we need luck or something), and they killed our cool yearly thing. Superstition has nothing to do with sports or anything else for that matter. You either play good enough to win or you don't period.

More like Chess Neyland because we are all pawns in this game

Have you ever considered the fact that without the Checkerneyland atmosphere both of those games would have been more convincing losses and not as close as they ended up being?

If you are superstitious, we are undefeated in the Grey jerseys, so that cancels out the winless with checker.

I don't think OP considered all variables.

Uhh... we are 1-2 in gray.

I guess you could say we are 1-0 in the Nike gray?

Undefeated in grey NIKE jerseys.

You seem to love the Smokey Grays despite the fact that we lost every game we played in them - including one to Vandy - until last years comeback miracle win against UGA

Checker Neyland had nothing to do with our lack of depth the last 2 years, nor the coaches play calling or lack of adjustments in the 2nd half of those 2 losses.
I'm of the school of thought that the special atmosphere may have helped us keep the game closer and give us a chance to win. This Saturday if the fans return in force like against OK last year, we may in fact turn the corner and get a resounding win over the hated Gators

What is with the infatuation on what our players are wearing with people on this board?

I understand if you're just like "I don't like it blah blah blah", but if you seriously think this has any affect on the outcome of the game then I guess that explains all I need to know.
