UGA keeps dropping in the polls after their wins and this is hillarious, 3 is not the magic number, they don't stop falling here, get used to it Georgia fans, you don't beat teams by large margins like #1 USC and #2 OK, that's your answer to "WHY DO WE KEEP DROPPIN, WTF, SCREW THE POLLS". Now quit whining and get over it.

I want UGA to falter too, but when we get to December, I will be irked if the SEC Champion (whoever it is) has 0-1 losses and is left out of the NC game.

I think we shouldnt play any games and just vote who should be the National Championship. The BCS system is just the best

Wow, I guess since the Vols are so low in the polls, for some (not nearly all) of you misery loves company. I'm amongst many, many UGA fans and not one is saying anything close to what you're maybe hoping they're saying. Most UGA fans, as are most real college football fans, are pretty realistic when it comes to the polls and poll implications. This is a long football season. If you keeping winning, by any margin, you'll end up in the right place (OSU '03, etc). If not, you won't.

UGA is 3-0 and ranked 3rd right now. The jury is still out as to whether or not we're even a top 10 team. It's still out on most other teams as well this early in the season. We improved drastically as the season progressed in '07 and finished ranked 2nd. That's why we're starting out ranked high in '08. But contrary to popular belief by some who aren't in touch with the Dawg Nation, we aren't thinking along your lines at all. Maybe some folks hope we're suffering, but we're pretty satisfied where we are and where we're headed.

for what its worth I dont see any reason UGA should have dropped from number 1. No way should a UNDEFEATED team loose position.

so then you make the garbage preseason polls nearly insurmountable?

That just doesn't make any sense.

After what USC did to OSU it's hard to argue. But if UGA wins out then they should be #1. Big IF.

USC and Oklahoma have both beaten multiple BCS opponents by considerable margins. Georgia seemed to have a tough time on offense against South Carolina. IMO there are a couple of teams you can argue have looked as good as Georgia so far. Alabama, Penn State... Missouri? ECU?

Point is it's early in the season. Let them play the games, and the standings will probably work themselves out.

Neither USC's or Oklahoma's opponents were rivals or SEC teams. Look at what the SEC has done to OSU the past two NC's. I'm afraid some of us are falling for the same old BCS BS. Any team in the SEC can beat any other team on any given Saturday. That's not necessarily true of other conferences. The SEC beats the $&!% out of iteself year in and year out. And some other team playing a weaker conference schedule (OSU in '06 & '07) gets to play the last one standing after our conference championship.

BTW, the UT/UCLA game was a fluke. UT wins that game 9 out of 10 times..........obviously.

That pretty much shoots down your theory that a team from somewhere other than the SEC cant beat any team at any time

UGA should have never been ranked #1. That said, they should still be sitting at #2. OU looks good but hasn't done enough to jump UGA.

It's not what the SEC has done to Ohio State, it's what LSU and Florida have done to Ohio State. Maybe it's more of a pet peeve for me, but resting on the laurels of one's conference is never really that convincing to me of the strength of a program.

And BTW, the BCS isn't that bad. (I personally prefer the pre-BCS system -- It's got everybody worked up over MNC's, and not what the ultimate goal in CFB SHOULD be: conference titles). But that's a topic for another time. Feel free to start a thread on it in the Around the NCAA forum.

PS, thanks for the vote of confidence. 9 times out of 10 seems like good odds, unfortunately we got stuck with that one time.

I think the polls shouldn't even come out until each team has played at least three games. Then you can get a feel for how the teams are playing and which ones seem to be for real.

o'kay, how 'bout 5 of the top 10 teams in the nation are from the SEC. I think the SEC had 3 teams that were better than OSU last season. :lolabove::lolabove:
