UGA calling out our snap count..

Defense is coached to "fire off" based on what they see... not the offense. The offense would have no initial surge if they "didn't fire off" until they saw the ball snapped. Why even have a snap count if your OL is simply looking at the ball waiting for it to be snapped???
Different teams do different things to establish timing and most is due to crowd noise, which doesn't have as much bearing this year. In UT's case it's lack of practice causing most of the errors although UGA was doing something to cause our line problems.

Refs should have caught that. Oh well, i'm sure the league office will know about it now since they play the league's golden goose this week. Watch them get a couple penalties for it at Bama if they try it.
They won't do it there. You saw how Kirby was beggin the refs from the get--go when D.Johnson lightly bumped Stetson helmet-to-helmet. It wouldn't surprise me to see the bastage down on his knees beggin the refs. A classless act if there ever was one. Bama is gonna steamroll dey azz and they going back to Athens wid they tails tucked up twixt dey legs. They simply aren't that good when you consider that 5th year butterfingers gave them excellent field position 3 times and Shamburger failed to cover a TD pass that should have had them kicking a FG instead. They're gonna try and mimic Kiffin's hurry-up style and Bennett isn't good enough andtheir offense isn't as good as Ole Miss's either.

Wait, you think UT defense doesn’t talk/yell/scream? You need better seats. You also think yesterday was a game of inches and one or two plays made the difference?
2nd half was the worst I’ve ever seen our OL, ever. DL wasn’t much better, Kirby said they ran into 10 man front, and still was successful. Pruitt said afterward he was pissed, that’s why, we got pushed around bc they wanted it more.
Yep their #7 repeatedly was slipping out of tackles and he's a small true freshman. We did a bad job of wrapping up and tackling correctly in that game and we played poorly in other aspects. Pruitt has a right to be pissed and some players are gonna have to re-earn playing time. Expect to see new faces getting playing time this week and hopefully at QB too.

If we change the snap count, we cold have caught them in the middle of their shift and broken some long runs. I always like to vary the snap count if the players are smart enough to remember it.
Chaney hasn't had time to install it yet along with a QB who's capable. There's an art to it that requires time for all linemen to get used to it. The best QB's at varying cadence are Drew Brees and Aaron Rogers.

I played trumpet in high school, navy and beyond. The best I can explain for you would be like a brass player getting hit in the mouth while playing or more to your woodwind side,,, like hitting a "squeak" in the middle of your only solo in the spring concert competition... or getting hit in the back of the head while playing and splitting a reed..

Thanks, brother! It is now perfectly clear to me now!

Well we know if UGA was creating an unfair advantage it will be called when they play Bama. Just the way it is. There will be some level of satisfaction knowing it should have been called in our game and it should shut up the GA trolls in this thread.

The mike is that backer that is 3 yards off the ball in that pic. That empire is 6 yards back so he cant hear whats going on in the trenches. Mimicking the snap count doesnt screw up the defense stop it. I have coached 12yr olds that did it and the rest of the dline never jumped only the offense. I aint crying or complaining. We played poor in the 2nd half and loss simple as that. Im just stating the obvious. Since u here, yal got a great defense but the rest of the team played dirty all game. Somebody obviously felt threatend by us just look at the tactics they pulled. From the waterbottle to the chop-block. We found out a ton about our team. We not quite there yet but we coming. Yal better hurry up and win a natty bc once we get right its back to 3rd place u go. GBFO🍊🍊🍊

Yeah, Coach. I played some Mike but, as everybody got bigger and stronger, I was moved to Will. I agree with most of what you said, but you're better than saying we played dirty. All SEC teams do it about the same. Some just do it better than others at any given time. Good luck to you and your team.

Let's say you had a battle of the bands and one band was better than yours. Practiced harder, recruited better band members, and had a better band leader......just overall better people. Let's say that you really got beat in the battle and your roadies and fans whined that it was because their amps all went to 11. That kind of thing.

Doesn’t change the fact that the amp going to 11 is a legitimate gripe. I’m not sure there are many people claiming that yelling the snap count cost us the game by itself.

UGA is the better team by any objective standard. Most here agree with and know that. That is why Kirby resorting to these tactics is so infuriating. Like I said, we’ll see if it gets called against Bama, or if Kirby even does it.

Since the shift may become a thing especially against TN how would you combat it ? My thought was to line up a TE on the overload side(pre-shift) side before they shift. Snap on the movement of the shift and run to the side they shifted from. TE could seal the end and run outside of TE location. Yes we don't have a TE so use you smaller more mobile offensive lineman who normally would be 3rd string as a TE. Line him up early and shift him one way or the other based upon defense. Once it starts looking like a run play action off of it. The RB should be able to get one on one with LB or TE chip the DE and try to get to the LB.. Other option is playing largest receiver there and work play action with chip block on end and go out into pattern. Use play action to freeze linebacker. Just thinking out loud from what we had to watch this past weekend. Still sad that nobody on offense figured something out during the game.

Ya know, if you got some other place you need to be, don't let us hold you up.... 🙄

The defense is allowed to yell out it's own signals pre-snap and they can simply say tough-shat if it appears to mimic a snap-count. Best counter is to do it to them too. UT hasn't had enough time this season to get into a good rythym yet because so many players had to go through that quarantine. We're simply rusty and appear uncoordinated. I think Pruitt and staff are fast tracking and should be commended under these circumstances. Take, for example, Shamburger who hasn't played at all this year and left the slot receiver wide-open for a TD pass. Simply because of a lack of practice. We actually had to piecemeal our practices for quite awhile and now we're seeing the results. Should just render this a learning and developmental season.
Yes but our OL did have a huge problem with false starts when their front shifted and yelled late. Simulating a snap is a penalty. It wasn’t called on Georgia last week, but I suspect Saban gets the calls. He wa complaining Kiffin was stealing signals, so he wants help from SEC office.
