Apparently they got into a bidding war and UF “won” but UT forced them to ridiculously overpay. 7 mill a year I’m hearing which would make him second highest paid in the Conference.

I’m not sure either side won. We’re both screwed.

Florida just over payed for a decent coach

Tennessee just decided to give up football for the next 4 years.

Florida: No one can make a more mediocre hire than us

Tennessee: Hold My Beer

I’m not too upset with the hire, Mullen knows what good looks like at QB and that has been what has KILLED Florida since Mullen left.

But 7 million per??? Good grief!

Overpaid puts it mildly. Let's put it this way, UCLA got Chip Kelly for a little over 4 million. So we're paying Mullen almost double that??

Jeesh.

I would have been satisfied with Mullen. He's a good coach. A bunch of people here thought he would be a bad hire. LOL they are about to see what a bad hire truly is.

At least you can say you got a good coach. Florida will contend for the East under Mullen. Tennessee will contend with Vandy and Mizzou for the basement with Schiano

If UF got Mullen and UT gets Schiano then UF won. No question. Mullen was not a significant drop from the top tier. Schiano is her the bottom of the barrel. I knew when Kelly went to UCLA that UT was screwed and would have to go further down its list. That is a lot of money but I believe Mullen will be very successful at UF. He automatically will become the best coach in the East with access to Florida recruiting.

If this is true, I'm not sure where that puts us. I mean, most agree that Mullen is a good coach, but if we were both fighting over him, that means a lot of other coaches turned us both down.

By the way, I'm not assuming you're lying or spreading misinformation, but I'm very skeptical of anything since I've recently acquired this footage of the media reporting on the UT hire:
