UConn series continuing?

Pat stopped playing him because of his recruiting behavior! Enough said . I would not give him one ounce of my attention or even acknowledge his existence!

That being said : Kellie knows how to beat him! Just Saying 😈

This is Kellie’s team now and she knows what she has do to do get Tennessee back to where it was. If that means playing UConn, so be it.

Terrible idea. Nobody wants to hear this, but Kellie isn't beating UConn as long as Geno is coaching. I wish it weren't the case, but it just isn't happening.

There are lots of other elite nonconference teams to choose from, most of which the Lady Vols have been playing since discontinuing the UConn series...

Kellie and Geno, THEY DON'T PLAY THE GAME!!! Players do. If Kellie can recruit on an even bases with Geno, then we will see which of them can Coach the players to a win. At this point we have no idea just how good Kellie can become. TIME will tell.

Losing to UConn means almost nothing bad for Tennessee now, aside from the rivalry comparisons which are already lopsided thanks to the last ten years of Final Fours. Beating UConn, on the other hand, would mean a lot. Seems like a keeper to me, barring something I'm missing. If Harper is going to "bring Tennessee back," beating UConn would be a rung on that ladder.

Whoa Silver!

Coaches play their own game within the game,,,you better believe we play the game

We agree on this. For me, when Pat cancelled that series it was CANCELLED. Permanently. Was hot under the collar when they announced the home and home two years ago. Couldn’t have come at a worse time for our program either.

Then let me rephrase: As long as Geno is at UConn he will ALWAYS have better players than Kellie, and it won't be that close...

We never should have restarted the series out of principal and respect for PS. Nor are we likely to win anytime soon.

I'm really split about it.

I think recruiting wise is the only good reason to do it. But I also wonder how much that really helps if its not competitive and I worry it won't be.

Geno is ambivalent about continuing the series with UT. He says he is not against playing the Lady Vols. However, he says that the series is no longer a rivalry. He said the arena in Storrs was not fully attended when the teams played last year.

Pat wasn't all that thrilled about playing Connecticut in the 90s but did it anyway. She didn't do it for the moment, she did it for the big picture. Tennessee may be down now, but it doesn't have to be down tomorrow. Heaven forbid the rivalry get good again.
