Couldn't find a thread dedicated to this so here 'tis...

Tickets went on sale yesterday. I picked up a couple and will be staying at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel... I believe quite a few other Vols wll be staying there as well. Getting there Friday 8/29 and leaving 9/2. Anyone else made travel plans yet?

Dodd Athletic Tours set up two trips, one to just LA/Santa Monica, and one to Vegas for 2 nights and Santa Monica for 2 nights. Anyone done one of these "tours" before? Here's the link Official Tour then click one of the two tours to the left. We chose the "Football Weekend Only Tour" which includes a "Welcome Vols" reception sunday night with an open bar :eek:hmy:. I don't know about you guys, but I can make the overall trip cost pretty worthwhile with an open bar!!

So... who's going to the game?
anyone else going to do this travel package?
anyone want to meet up saturday in Santa Monica?
Anyone want to meet up somewhere before the game?? :toast:

GO VOLS, BEAT THE BRUINS!!

a very nice hotel and good location. some nice food in 3rd street nearby as well. barney's beanery is a favorite if you like tons of beer on tap and lots of tvs (any game you want to see you can see there but get their early). the burgers are very good too. avoid yankee doodles. bars (particurally of the cheap variety) are severly lacking in that area though.

uhh, does a one-legged duck swim in a circle?!?! :)

I'm sure I'd be there early, considering gameday starts at what 7:30 out there on the left coast? (and its opening weekend)

thanks for the advice droski, I'm sure I'll ask for some more help as we get a little closer to september.

I will be there. Staying at the Loews Friday through Sunday night. I didn't do the trip package because there are several places me and the wife want to go on our own and didn't want to be tied to the "tour group".

Then I'm moving the party to the Hilton Pasedena on Monday night.

My wife is from Torrance so I've got several "commitments" while I'm out there, but I will be finding a good spot for pregame on Monday.
very nice, well do keep us posted. I look forward to talking about Trenton's teapots with you... :)

Like I suggested earlier, I plan on going and watching Josh Nunes play on that Firday, provided we are still on his list at that time. We haven't decided where we are staying yet, but Santa Monica and Downtown Pasadena are the two options at this point.

Maybe its just early but...

I figured more UCLA fans would be on here talking some serious smack. Perhaps they are a classier crowd than I was expecting.. Then yet.. I was expecting them to be just like Cal

Classy, no. Scared, yes. :p

edit: I'll give them the benefit of the doubt... they may be classy...? we'll see.

Classy is not a term i would use for ***LA fans. Delusional and bandwaggon perhaps, but not classy. And let's not forget that the jerk comments coming from Cal fans were almost soley one poster. I suggest checking out BRO, the bruins scout board, and you will see what i am talking about. Biggest collection of JOs on the internet. Just hope you don't lose or you will see some of the worst fan behavior on the planet. If you are ahead they all will be gone by the 4th quarter, so no worries there.

LOL droski!! "Delusional" and "bandwaggon"??? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You remind me a lot of this kal guy at the office who kept saying kal was the better team even though they lost to the trojans (he went to the stats card but sc had the points card; what a doofus).

Anyway, glad to see some of the Vols coming out. Traveling is tough right now especially over Labor Day. Some Bruins posted on Bruinzone about their visits to Neyland Stadium and had good things to say about the TN fans.

As for smack talk, we don't have a lot to say right now but like I've said before, we're a pretty friendly bunch and can dish it (as well as take it) with the best of them, unlike the doofs at kal. (Congrast to the Cal Crew for making it to the IRA Championship this season. They're about the only classy group up there).

GO BRUINS! BEAT THE VOLS! KILL kal!
