Their defense has given up 45 and 49 points in their first two games this season if we don't score that many points plus I say we fire Clawson after the game...They also give up 218 on the ground and 350 plus through the air

My point exactly.... If we win big, I just hope everyone keeps it in perspective for the Florida debacle that is sure to come....

Interesting post. Over in the NCAA forum, you have added your voice to those naive folks claiming that Meyer is a douche for having tacked on a field goal to beat Miami 26-3 instead of 23-3.

And now here you are calling for your offensive coordinator to actually be fired if you don't score at least 45 against the hapless UAB squad.

Talk about your irony.

Meyer IS a classless douche for throwing to the end zone 3 times late in the game, when the outcome was definitely decided and less than 2 minutes on the clock. He'll get his in time, rest assured.

I think it was twice.

But anyways, what's the difference between that and demanding that your offense score 50 points against what you know is a team that is totally overmatched?

Was I demanding it? Fulmer never runs the score up, partly being a gentlemen and partly sitting on a lead, for which he's infamous. Hell, I just want a W, 1 point is fine.

Florida's lucky miami didn't try and take tebow out with a cheap one. How can you defend meyer here gator. He was obviously looking for style points here. The guy does it too much and is getting a rep as a douche bag.

I would agree with just wanting a win and something to build off of... but you're forgetting the bigger picture.


The BCS factors who you beat and how. I hate it, but every victory needs to be by as large of a margin as possible to remain competitive. Given that UF is fighting with a USC team that likely won't lose a game for #1 spot and an OU team that also looks pretty well put together... it's a sound strategy.

Just another sign that Fulmer is out of touch with modern football.

As I said, in college football, winning isn't the only thing. Winning and doing it by a good margin, that's the only thing.

That's just foolishness to even say that. Despite the faulty gameplan and the miscues, I'd take Dave Clawson over Randy Sanders, sight unseen. I'm still optimistic that this offense gets untracked and will be explosive in time.

LG, nobody cried running up the score when you guys put up 56 on Hawaii. Its a different situation, and you should know that.

Pretty simple... He's not asking for us to tack on a worthless field goal with :40 seconds left to make our total 50.... He's just simply stating that he wants us to score 50 points... This can be achieved at any point in the game, just not in the last :40 seconds, you know, when it really doesn't mean anything to anyone, besides someone with self esteem issues....

On another note, I don't think we'll be close to 50... Maybe 30... Not 50....

Fire an offensive coord after two games???? That is pulling the string a little early IMO. He has to have time to prove or disprove himself and the players still need time to get into the system. As for Meyer, I have no problem with him scoring as many points as his team can. It is football, if you can't stop the other team from getting in position to score that tough. At the same time, if the other team gets pissed you are trying a late FG and blasts your kicker even at the expense of a PF or ejection, then you must deal with that as well.

I'm sure it is... We'll see how his ego is if anyone gets to tack on a meaningless field goal in the closing seconds of a game this year....

I don't understand the whole running up the score thing. If you are going to do it, be prepared for cheap shots. If you're getting it run up on you...stop it, try to use it as motivation for later times, and hit late. That is the best way to handle it (way better than crying about egos and self esteems). For the record I think Meyer is a douche bag and he is Sabanish in the level of hatred I have for him.
