Sadly, the allegations of inappropriate relationships with a player were true. I pray for Tyler, his wife, Pat, and anyone else affected by this.

May they find they courage to admit their shortcomings and the faith to press ahead during the difficult days that will follow.

Would you plez send your daughter to Tennessee where we're accused of harboring an attitude conducive to rape an where one of the assistants just got fired from La Tech for an inappropriate relationship with one of his players? It's all good .. hard to stop them hormones in this day an age ya know?

Just glad he wasn't employed by UT. With the sh*tstorm the University is dealing with now this would've exacerbated it tenfold.

So far he's owned up. Everyone makes mistakes. He will lean and grow. He will pay for it now and hopefully it will make him better. Not judging this one.

Thats what happens when you give a 20 something year old kid a job he is not qualified for due to his last name. Some dummies actually wanted him here as our coach. We dodged a bullet.

Louisiana Tech announced today; Tyler Summitt would be stepping down from his head coaching duties.

LA Tech released this statement on the resignation: "Effective immediately and for personal reasons, Tyler Summitt has stepped down as head coach of Louisiana Tech University’s women’s basketball program. The university has accepted his resignation and appreciates the contributions he has made to the growth and success of the Lady Techsters program during his tenure.

Louisiana Tech will immediately begin the process of selecting a new head coach to lead the women’s basketball program and student-athletes forward. Louisiana Tech wishes Tyler and his family the best of luck in the future."
