Bama QB Simpson says he's headed to NFL draft
Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is declaring for the NFL draft, he announced Wednesday on Instagram.
Then, are we to accept the report that CJH really was out of town on an important recruiting visit weekend, visiting a 3-star athlete for the '27 class as straight up facx?!?!!!![]()

It's valid simply bc CJH was out of town while portal visits were occuring back home. Would seem wise to be selling your program to potential players for next season, as opposed to visiting mid tier prospects in another recruiting class. But I get it, I don't know the master plan, and those are just the opticsOr he never had any interest in transferring lol yāall get all jazzed up by supposed inside information but the reality is very few have any idea what is going on or what the plan is
We've got too many holes to spend $5M on a QB.A quick google says Sorsby is going to Texas Tech for one year, for $6 million. Jaxson Dartās rookie contract was four years and $17 million, so $4.25M a year. Thereās still a good incentive to get through that rookie contract to get to the bigger one coming later, but I donāt see any reason a P4 program shouldnāt shoot their shot trying to get someone to not enter the draft, especially if they donāt project as a first day pick.
Sure he can while the portal is open and you have kids on campus for a visit. No offense to the kid but a 3* '27 prospect wouldn't be on my priority list to visit at the moment. Kid likely to flip between now and '27 anyway.I usually don't put much stock in rumors or assumptions. I usually don't comment on them either, but this is getting silly. As the head coach, Heup can't ignore high school recruits and focus on only portal players.
You don't know how he is doing it though. Are you on staff? I don't know how he is doing it. I am not on staff. He has other coaches that can be there to meet the portal kids, and when he returns he can meet with them. Sounds simple and logical. He was back in Knoxville by noon, so he had the rest of the day for the portal players. What if that kid he visited is All Vol? What if he gets a big bump in stars or ranking between now and next year? What if CJH brushed him off and that kid thinks, maybe I should go somewhere I am more valued than a 1 year player? Then everyone can speculate he blew it by not going on that quick recruiting trip. Definition of can't win for losing. Sometimes you have to multi-task and use your staff. Delegate responsibility to the ones you trust to do their jobs. At least that's how we did it when I was in the military.Sure he can while the portal is open and you have kids on campus for a visit. It's a new era in college sports and doing things the old way is going to get you left behind
