Two years ago would you have believed this spread?

Not sure i believe it now.

I think we can win and probably should. However 10.5 seems like a big margin to me.
It's a big number, and feel confident we are going to win, but FL played Utah pretty well and we have to show up. I think it's a different situation because we have a veteran QB, but when we played UF last year, they came in to the game ranked #11...where we are ranked...and we all know how the season ended for them. If we play a clean game, we win.

Hopefully Florida is falling into the abyss that Tennessee was in from 2008-2020

While i agree that Florida hasnt been quite as bad as TN in that timespan, they certainly haven't been as good as some people might have perceived them to be. They haven't won an SEC championship since Meyer was the coach. 4 out of the last 12 years have they finished with double digit wins. 5 of the years they had a losing record or went even in the SEC.

Since their Utah game, I’ve said that if we stop the run we’re going to win. I’m still with that mindset. If we make them one dimensional and we don’t lose the turnover battle we will be in good shape. I think we can run on them, but I’ll be interested to see if we come out throwing haymakers. If we jump out to a lead 10/14 -0 and the crowd is going, they’re going to be in trouble. They’re not built to come from behind.

Tennessee needs to bring the house in pass rushing Richardson

For me, it is suicidal to bet on sports, especially on or against MY TEAM/S. Damned if you do and Damned if you don't, right? Already waaaaaay too much pressure watching a UT football game, so why in hell add to that pressure??

The current Gator spread is a bit numbing. True Vol fans have been down the path of "Oh, we will win for sure this year against Florida....." far too many dang times. However, if I had an iron stomach and carried a defibrillator with me, I would take UT and give up the points this week. Heupel wants it bad and, the team wants it for him. Go Vols!!

This is what it's all about where you're a top shelf team on the rise

Credit Heupel's leadership and maybe especially what Danny White is doing in the background to support him and the other coaches/programs.

This is the impact of a culture shift. Even if UT loses the direction of the culture will turn this series into something more competitive. UT will start winning some games vs UF. My sincere hope is that UF's time wandering in the wilderness isn't over... but either way it seems that UT finally has something worthy of our hopes and confidence.

I don't gamble. Haven't in years. But it is foolish to ever gamble on an event or game when you have an emotional stake. The only way you do that is if you are betting on yourself- poker, pool, et al.

Yeah i don't think we would ever have gotten this far with Butch Jones and Cornbread Pruitt. Butch went 9-4 twice but those teams don't seem like they were in the same league as this season's Tennessee team.

He had 9-4 teams that should have been 10-12 win teams. Most disagree with me but that's part of why Jones is my least favorite of the coaches after Fulmer. I can pity someone who just fails. He pounded his chest and in spite of some of the best talent UT has had in many, many years... he managed to choke away games.

There are lots of ways you can relate it but to understand it you have to experience it. Our special ops military make a good example. They don't think they can lose. They're not unrealistic. They know that they could die or lose a battle... but they think of that possibility as being as likely as getting attacked by a Polar Bear and a regular bear on the same day. They're in literal shock when someone beats them even when the odds are stacked way against them. They simply don't believe they can lose. American fighter pilots think the same way.

Lots of times the difference between winning and losing is simply who believes so strongly that they will win that they accept no other outcome.

If you've watched Florida play this year, and I have they are not very good. Etienne is a pretty good looking young running back, but they go entirely as their QB play does, and they have gotten dreadful QB the last two games from Richardson. If he plays like that this weekend, we win easily.

I have said it before and I'll say it again. Danny White and Huepel walked into a disaster. Coming off a 3-7 season and players leaving left and right. We legitimately had one of the worst/unproven rosters of any power 5 program. To be 17 months in and ranked 11th in the country with one of the best offenses in college football is a miracle. It's impressive. I wasnt a big fan of the Huepel hire, I thought White went with what he was comfortable with. I was wrong. Huepel is a damn good coach who seems to really appreciate the fan base. He seemed choked up talking about the fan turnout for the Akron game and vol walk. We have the right guys in place, who are good coaches and good people. Don't forget how bad we were just a few years ago and really appreciate what this staff has done.

They are already one dimensional. Richardson can’t pass consistently. Load the box to stop their running game and force him to pass and we should come out on top. They won’t be able to keep up with us.

I’m with you, but I’m trying to hold back a little. I’ve seen this movie before, and the sequels. I won’t be comfortable until the clock hits all 0’s in the fourth quarter.

I am VOL through and through. I am very excited to see what CJH and staff have done with our team, and that he does not mess around when it comes to discipline. Do I hope the VOLS squash Glorida this Saturday? Well, I certainly hope that goes without saying, but I will - Yes, I do hope the VOLS beat the Gaiters ;-) by at least 20. However, I must add, Florida, like UT has had some bad hires these past few years... sound familiar? Not that they necessarily got terrible coaches, but rather that the hires were not a good fit for am administration that wants what seems to be perfection. Well, like UT, it seems that FL has finally hired a coach who will fit in and do a very good job. Now, it only remains to be seen if the powers that be in Gainesville will be patient enough for Billy Napier to complete the rebuild.

I know the Napiers. They are a wonderful Christian family and hold true to the values that would make most VOL fans proud. Billy's dad was a top notch high school coach at Murray County, Georgia (just south of Cleveland, TN where I grew up), and he sent a lot of young men into the college ranks. Billy has followed in his dad's footsteps very well, and has even done pretty good at each stop. I do wish Billy Napier well, and that he has great success as a head coach. However, whenever he faces our VOLS, I still hope that Big Orange is plastered all over his players. That being said, I wish Billy had gotten his bic coaching chance, just not at Florida, BAMA, KY, or any other team owe face each and every year. I believe that when the high school players in Fl see the teams Billy puts on the field year in and year out, they will begin recruiting as in the old days of Spurrier... and will be a tough team to have to deal with in recruiting and on the field where the rubber meets the road.

That being said, I wish we could have gotten Billy on our staff... but I am quite happy with CJH and am certainly glad he is our head coach at this time. Good luck Billy, just not this week, or during any week you face our VOLS! GBO.....
