First, it seems like this staff is recruiting extremely hard. They seem to be covering the entire country in a matter of days. I don't remember the previous staff moving around like this. I'm not sure if it is due to them playing catch up, but it seems like they have brought a different mentality to UT recruiting.

Second, I am pleased to see results from these OVs and UOVs. I can't remember how many time the last staff hosted recruits and we were told to expect big news, and then we got nothing. It seems like we are not only getting commits from the visits, but we are also getting a lot of positive feedback. Many times in the past the silence would be deafening after visits.

Just a couple of thoughts, is anyone else noticing this?

I think they have a better grasp of how to manage perceptions. They are feeding us a lot of information and almost all of it positive, even if it isn't concrete yet.

This staff is covering all of the social media outlets. It's something that the previous staff never did. I like the idea of having Tennessee all over Facebook, Twitter, etc. We will see if it helps out in the end.

Miles traveled by last staff in 2012 = 7,852
Miles by new staff since GBJ arrival = 14,669

This is by no means accurate, as I made theses numbers up, but it seems like it don't it?

I remember reading an article last year about a UT coach going to visit some prospects at a HS in Florida. I looked in VN and couldn't for the life of me, get an answer on who visited, who they visited or any details at all. I believe there were two prospects at the school who were excited to see the coach and yet we heard nothing from the staff.

I have noticed in recruit interviews following their visits that they make statements about feelings/vibe/attitudes being better than the last staff.

Include in that all the HS coaches talking like CDD and co snubbed them constantly.

Looks like this staff is doing a much better job.

Yep, I am very impressed with their overall effort so far! It was becoming disturbing to keep hearing those comments on how the overall vibe and attitude is much better now vs Doofuses staff. Thank god hes gone! He has me as well as most of this fanbase very excited. Hes the next Lame Kiffin without the name, fame and and scandalist ways..

At some point ask Todd Dooley (no relation to Dools), Director of Compliance for UTAD the question. He keeps accurate travel records for NCAA compliances purposes.

FYP

If we land some of the big targets, I will be buying my first NCAA game in a long time.

Good observations.

Jones asks players on the rosters, "What are you selling today?" He gets it that you have to sell no matter what you are doing.

In business, it typically takes a minimum of 2 years of extensive marketing of products or services to begin seeing the results you want. If they are effective sales people as a staff and roster, the hard work they put in over the next two years will begin to show big results in Year 3 forward.

Notice that the current players have been more active on social media with recruits? Not a coincidence. There is a lot to sell at UT. It has everything. It needs some work to level the playing field on student admissions since it is out of whack with all of the other SEC schools including Vandy. But once that is corrected it will be second to none with what it offers. So it will all be about selling the recruits and developing the players.

You're looking at a staff that has (for most of them) worked together for a number of years. I think that's the area we tend to forget. Dooley's Staff was like a rag tag group of guys. Never felt cohesive like this group. Still the results are shown on the field and on the score board. What is evident is the sense of urgency and not the "we have arrived" mentality.

These guys came here together to win a national title. I'm convinced they believe they can and they are doing everything in their power to make it happen.

Wasn't the whole reason Dools was hired was because Hamilton liked his organization skills?

Wait, what am I saying, I answered my own question. Nothing to see here. Move along.
