It is truely sad day in the SEC. Yes I am a Gator but I have a lot of respect for Phil Fulmer and his legendary accomplishments. If you look at the overall work coach Fulmer has done it is incredible. I could list his overall record(150W - 50L) or his 1998 National Championship, or all his trips and wins to Atlanta and bowls..ect... But what I most respect about him is his true love for the University Tennessee and how much he has built there. To watch his full length press conference was gut wrenching to say the least. I hope every true UT fan rises up when he takes to the field and give him one hell of a reception. I hope during the UK game his players carry him off the field and the goal posts come down. He gave everything he had as a player and a coach for UT for over 30 years. I am a die hard grad from UF, but come November 29th I say GO VOLS!!! Good luck coach Fulmer, you will always be UT to me.

Classy post. My thoughts exactly. I was saddened several years ago when Spurrier left UF. As much as I came to hate the man, he was still the figurehead for the University of Florida and that is something I will always miss.

I agree with the support idea, but just go away with the crap about Fulmer being UT football. I know you believe football only started in the 90s, but that's not actually the case.

Fulmer is Tennessee, like Spurrier was Florida, like Earnart was Nascar. It's gonna be a while before people quit associating Tennessee with Fulmer and vice versa. It'll happen. But it ain't gonna happen today.

Fulmer lost my last bit of respect for him yesterday. I don't like the way he handled things at the press conference. I won't support UT Football until he and hopefully half the unruly kids that were at the press conference yesterday are gone.

Nice post and I agree.
I will be the first to say that I have been very critical of CPF. Some of it fair and, yes, perhaps some of it not. While I fully back his resignation/firing, now is the time to honor the good he did bring to the program.

I would love to see the fans rush the field after UK game and the players carry Fulmer off the field! Nice Post Gator

Thank you for your classy post, Scottone.

I think Spurrier being at Florida made Coach Fulmer a better coach. There was always that detestable guy on the other sidelines that we wanted to beat more than anything. After he left, it felt like we were the only ones left, and that the SEC was ours for the taking and if you look at it, that corresponds with when the decline started. Spurrier forced Tennessee to get better.
