The list of casualties to the football team keeps growing. Does anyone have data points on player departures during the first years of the coaches listed below? Maybe I'm extra sensitive to departures from the VOLS ranks, but it seems like there have been an usually high number of people leaving or being dismissed.

Alabama - Saban
Florida - Meyer
Michigan - Rodriguez [I recall reading about a lot of turnover due to the new system]
Auburn - Chizik (to date)
Washington - Sarkisian (to date)
Clemson - Swinney (to date)
Oregon - Kelly (to date)

I wouldn't expect many departures from Clemson/Oregon since those coaches were promoted from within the program.

There has always been players leaving. Whats different is that they are not leaving because of police or legal issues but their own choice.

This is just like when a new CEO comes in and weeds out the ones that do not want to work or have the same goals as him. I wish all of them well and i feel that we will better off without them in the long run. We will get players in here that are not afraid to work hard and compete for the starting position. Earn it not have it handed to you if you throw a tatrum.

Agreed. I'm just trying to get a sense of how the departure numbers for UT compare to those of other programs experiencing coaching changes.

Its like when kiffin told bryce petty and tahj boyd they didnt fit the system. Kiffin didnt give them the boot. Players are leaving because they dont fit. Kiffin is gonna get "his" qb. I find it hard to believe that kiffin would let someone leave if they would see alot of pt. Also wasnt BJ rumored to transfer to duke last year. So not a huge surprise. BJ was and still is a good kid, good presents, and attitude. Heres the good thing: one less qb to take the reps in practice.

Im sure all the others programs had players leave, not big name players. I doubt that any random fan of those teams know who bj coleman is or most of the others who left.

Different last year tho. JC was given the job without much of a competition. This year has been a lot more open, or so it seems.

Was at coaching clinic a few weeks ago heard one of the coaches say we have two sec caliber qb's. i guess we see who they think they are.

I detect OP is trying to gather more info to justify why he/she/it thinks Kiffin should go. Do not have energy to search, but I believe he/she/it stated that Kiffin will be gone in 2yrs and to "bring on Gruden".
