Turning Point: Cam Sutton Muffed Punt

It was Cam's muff that started it, but the fact that App State scored a touchdown that set it off.

It was 3 minutes into the freakin game.

Some of y'all are really working hard to avoid what took place.

It was a dog (blank) performance against a dog (blank) team.

Hopefully, it was a complete fluke.

But, there was no turning point. They are not a very good team. This isnt syracuse in 1998, etc, etc, etc.

Are you the guy on Gator Country forums who admitted that "I've been trolling the Tennessee fans for years on VolNation, they're idiots." I think so.

Every single leader on our football team made horrible uncharacteristic mistakes last night. Dobbs made that horrible decision at the end of the half, Cam muffed the punt, JRM got the targeting penalty (bs call and rule) Hurd got stripped. 3 senior leaders made some bad plays that had a huge impact on the game. It was ugly, there was no flow to the game and we flat out played not lose from the beginning.

LMFAO so while watching this sh*tshow with Florida vs UMass, what are your thoughts on your favorite team going forward? Tennessee may have had a "dog (blank)" performance against a dog blank (11-2 last season and 18 returning starters) team, but Florida is STRUGGLING with one of the bottom 5 teams in the entire FBS right now. Maybe you trolled VolNation too soon since your favorite team looks just as bad as Tennessee did except against a MUCH MUCH WORSE team.

After that, we were plagued with mistakes and poor execution that almost cost us the game.
A team that executes well and make the least mistakes usually wins.

I think the Dobbs INT was more demoralizing than the muffed punt. It wasn't until that point when I realized Tennessee truly didn't have it and the game was likely to be close until the very end.

Cam's mistake happened so early that it was hard to get too worried about it, plus we hadn't even seen our offense yet at that point.
Incorrect. The internet was way into the game when most damage had been done and was in fact a product of the earlier mistakes.

I can tell most people on here posting didn't actually watch the game. It was not anyone okay it wasn't series of events in the first quarter that got the game going how it did.

1. The fumble that lead to their first TD.
2. Bad call on back of ending TD catch was huge. Forced a field goal.
3. JRM ejection. That whole sequence made me sick because you can't be mad at JRM he was playing clean. Official HAVE to make that call though. The bad guy is the asstard returner that should have fair caught it.

I honestly think 3 and 2 in that order had the biggest effects. But it was the fact they all just kinda rolled up in a fairly short period of time. The fact that after that second TD our D buckled down and we scored 17 unanswered gets lost it seems.

Florida was picked to finish 5th in the East before the year.

I said on this board on many occasions that it was the worst Florida roster since the 70's. It was a team that had overachieved at that point and was not as good as its record.

But, beyond all that id think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who dared to gleam anything positive from those performances.

At the end of the day, this doesnt matter and there is a lot of season left, but it's not a good sign for the kind of season you are looking for
You obviously know little about football friend. App State is a very good team this is likely the only loss they take this year...and before you make a fool of yourself saying they play no one they play Miami (the U) week 3. They are a really good team but not as good as they looked against us. That rb will play on Sunday's. We has a crazy sequence of bad decisions and bad luck and took a while to recover. This was the best possible outcome in game 1 for UT. We got a gut check, pulled off that win at the end finally and most important walked away with no injuries.

I take this over a 77-20 win everyday. For this game. It was a reality check. Our guys know they are good but now they know they cannot sleep on opponents. Butch is loving this crap.

My honest thought when it happened....Appy might not get shut out.

I didnt think...."game on".

I was in complete shock the whole game. Couldnt even flip to SC-Vandy

And Sat UMass showed that florida is still garbage. Didn't shock me though.
