Tuesday scrimmage updates

They say they're going to utilize the tight ends more every year. I don't care if they plan on it this year or not, it won't happen. They'll use them for big conversions and as the last option 90% of the time more than likely. They're "big and athletic"....okay.....most tight ends are these days. That doesn't mean they can catch and be consistent.

I don't put much stock in that idea. No more than I put into the idea of a "package" for Berry, Jones, or Taylor at QB. Only the tight ends WILL obviously get utilized more than that package would.

They used the TE's a lot in today's scrimmage. No reason practicing it if you're not gonna do it. You don't work on a TE middle screen if you're not gonna do it, and you don't have plays set up for the TE to get a TD if it's just for show. They'll use the TE's a lot more this year than in the past few. I'd bet on it.

That middle screen killed people when Witten was there, but no one on our roster....all of them combined, aren't Jason Witten. haha

I hope they utilize it and are smart with it, but with the dropsies that are going around after they barked at how great they are...they better put up early otherwise they'll dump that plan.

Ainge doesn't mind sharing the ball and although he's prone to a forced pass here and there, if they get open, he'll keep throwing it so they better damn well catch it. haha

Sounds like our boy G Jones isn't really getting any looks and could redshirt.
Jones has been getting a lot of looks and has been the second best freshman reciever we have so far behind moore. They just held him out today because he had a tight hamstring.
