Phil is a polite guy and won’t step on any toes. Pruitt probably wants Phil to assess what’s going on. I am sure any significant comments will go to Pruitt.
Friend is teaching all the linemen all the positions. Understanding allows him to piut the best players on the field where needed. But more importantly when the D plays games, the players will know how to compensate. Obviously this takes more time to learn. It’s complicated. Most coaches do this and it pays off. Reps reps reps.
I am hoping soon the light comes, we can stop thinking and play. I don’t have a lot of football experience but I played guard enough to know confusion paralyzed you. That split second you stop to think gets you beat every time.
