Junior cornerback Emmanuel Moseley sat out Saturday's practice, but practiced Tuesday in a green no-contact jersey.

Redshirt freshman defensive end Darrell Taylor also returned to action in a green-no contact jersey after missing Saturday's practice.

K. McKenzie again showed up as a hard guy to move winning basically all of his reps, prompting Jones to tell more than one offensive lineman he needed to be in the weight room.

We also saw continued activity from Quarte Sapp who is going to help this team this fall.

Eli Wolf again showed up with a couple of wins in blocking work. Jason Croom had a big block in one on one's that created an eruption from his offensive teammates.
Hubbs

The defensive line won a majority of the reps as Dimarya Mixon and Kahlil McKenzie had nice outings. Paul Bain is also someone that continues to have a nice spring as he beat some scholarship players on reps.

On the offensive line, Jack Jones was the most consistent player as he won several reps and Venzell Boulware did good work as well.

When they went to pass-protection drills, the offensive line faired much better. Drew Richmond won his rep against Dimarya Mixon after struggling in the run game. Coleman Thomas had a nice rep as well.
Fortenberry

As he’s done all spring, Khalil McKenzie more or less had his way with just about anyone he lined up with. He’s looked virtually impossible for anyone to handle one-on-one all spring and that was certainly the case today.

Jack Jones and Charles Mosley also had some nice moments in individual contact work and Mosley probably came closer than anyone to at least stalemating with McKenzie on occasion.

Stephen Griffin continues to have a nice spring at the safety spot and looks like a young guy that will push to get on the field.
Lewis

Austin Smith is out for the spring with a shoulder injury according to Butch. He's expected back in June.
Austin Sanders has a sprained ankle but is expected back Thursday.

John Brice: Asked if #Vols DL can be best n #SEC @KM1_Era says "Of course. That's why we're out here working." . @KM1_Era says he made the LB to DL transition. Says went from RB to DL in a year. #Vols

Good to hear Stephen Griffin is balling out. I still believe he's the most talented player we have at safety.

Sucks to hear Austin Smith is out. I was looking forward to seeing him in the spring game.

What am I missing here...I expected KMac to be an instant impact guy and he clearly didn't do anything extraordinary last fall after looking amazing in his highlights from all star camps. Now he appears to again be tempting us with amazing highlights from spring training - what can we expect for next fall? This guy's an enigma - solid player or superman?

Well, he didn't play his entire senior year of high school. He was definitely not conditioned last year, but I expect him to be a big contributor this year

Can't wait to see Kahil pick up a blocker and hurl him at the quarterback. Hope it's a bammer.

I wish he would watch film of Haloti Ngata. That's who Kmac reminds me of the most.

Good Stuff, thanks Fingers! Hope we can at least get Tuttle back by SEC play... glad to hear about Sapp and Gaulden, along with Griffin... still hoping to hear more positive feedback on Richmond, Jones, and Mosley as the spring progresses...

...And you're still wrong

Athletically he's the most gifted. He's tall at 6'2". An insider said he tested as the most athletic player in the secondary. Also just watch him move. He has the gait of a high quality NFL caliber DB.

Hopefully he works hard in the classroom because safety is also a cerebral position.

I dont know if he starts this year. TK pretty much has one spot wrapped up. And the coaches like Gaulden who has a year of experience on Stephen. However, I'm confident he'll be the highest drafted guy from this safety group when they're done here at UT.

I agree he wasn't extraordinary, and I think Tuttle is our best D-tackle on the team, but you can't really say McKenzie was disappointing. For a non starter he put similar stats as those who did. and for a space eater he showed up in the games you would think he would. I would say handling the double teams as he did as a freshman is pretty impressive.
