This is the first time I've posted rumor and not fact. But I heard at the Dentist office today that Tubs can't sign with another SEC school.

It was said on Sportcenter that there was a clause in Tubbys contract that he couldn't sign with another SEC West school. I don't know how true that is.

I doubt he would want to, anyway. Tubby's record is too good for him to be out of coaching long, and he's younger than Fulmer. He'll be looking for a place where he can win consistently and not have an 800-pound gorilla (Alabama) always down the road.

He isn't going to Mississippi State, in other words.

"Financially, we will not have any constraints," Jacobs said, "but this league has stepped it up. The tree has gotten a lot taller. And it's gotten a lot more competitive. And we're going to hire someone who is equally competitive."

The quote above tells you Tubby was pushed out.

Who are they going to hire???

Fulmer wouldn't even be considered if they want to "go in a new direction".

Mike Leach maybe...idk....

Leach's ticket out of TT. Cant imagine him staying there for long. And SEC more of a challenge for his style of play. Would'nt have been against that O here, but I think we got right man child for the job.

i thought that clause was in petrinos contract? and i don't think tubberville would be obligated to a contractual agreement that no longer governs him...

Careful with the "spread" reference; even though Clawson called it "something like that", I got ripped for saying it. Whatever it was, Tommy and Phil stepped in it and couldn't wipe it off their feet.
