Tubberville Fires OC Tony Franklin

My guess is longer than Fulmer. CPF probably didn't hire him and it is doubtful he could fire him either.

Tuberville won the SECG with another OC. Fulmer has won none with several since 98.

You cant expect to change to a completely different offense and not with the right people to run it and expect to be successful in 6 games.

There has to be a little more to this story than just on-field production.

At most places, nothing short of dropping a deuce on the coach's desk could get you fired that quick.

If it's simply based on production, I imagine that Tubberville's worried about his job enough that he's not willing to put the time in it takes to overhaul an offense.

It's like going to a car and telling it to be a truck.

Fired. In October. Mid-Week. I agree there must be more to this story. Regardless.... Goodbye Tubby!

Go Tubber,if it aint workin get rid of their azz.

Yeah... Although I personally like Tuberville and you can't argue with success, this is a prime reason he should not be considered at UT. I think Jason Campbell had four different OC's at Auburn... so that would mean that TT has had at least 5 since 99. And yet he wonders why his offense never develops?

A lack of offense has cost him in the past and is costing them this year.

BTW, Coach Tuberville has only won 1 SEC championship in 9 years. However he has won 5 division titles in what was previously the SEC's two horse division (Fulmer has 4 in that period, right?). He isn't on the way to winning either this year without major help.

There has to be more to this story. Granted their offense has been awful, but OC just don't get launched 6 games after they are hired.

This doesn't make much sense. They recruited for this offense and have almost completed the class.

Franklin was clueless---it was a matter of time. That offense at AU was terrible and was getting worse by the game.

There have been problems down there before this season ever got started. Mostly between Coach Franklin and Tubervilles "boys". I think it finally came to a head today.

Wasn't Tuberville denying that changes were coming just a few days ago?

I'm not sure what is more strange: doing this in October or doing this in the middle of a week.
