Tua with another concussion.

Multiple concussions, and this time I saw him lock up. It reminded me a lot of the hit that ultimately resulted in Frank Wyceck's career ending.

And Frank went through years of issues......Tua probably should retire and protect the marbles he's going to have left.

Wycheck died after a fall earlier this year.

Yeah, but he struggled for years, severe headaches, confusion, memory loss.

He used to talk about how scrambled his eggs were on 104.5 in Nashville before he had to walk away from the show because of his issues.

He basically isolated himself from people in the last years of his life.

Somone on Twitter(X) posted that Tua is gauranteed all of his 97 million signing bonus regardless if he plays another down. Also, if he has to retire due to medical issues, he likely still receives all of the guaranteed money in the contract, which is 167 million.

Tua needs to listen to the advice of the Steve Miller Band and take the money and run.

I think the signing bonus is guaranteed no matter what and he would receive all the guaranteed money if he was never medically cleared to return. However, if he was cleared and then retired then I don’t think the injury gaurantees kick in.

I just read where the coach was asking people to stop it with saying he needs to retire or speculate on his future. Just let Tua concentrate on his health and we should be doing that as well.

Well....uhhh....not getting more concussions kinda IS concentrating on his health. And by hanging up the cleats he dramatically decreases his likelihood of getting more concussions soooo...

I feel like an arbitrator would probably side with Tua if it came to that, given what we know about head trauma and CTE.

Last chance with me. Tua hangs the cleats or he will have no one else to blame except himself.

I gotta think his family is going to be leaning on him to hang it up. But, pro athletes always seem to talk themselves into playing, even when it is best they don't. They play until they can't. I hate to say it, but I think Tua will find a doctor who will say he is OK to play and so he will play. The team isn't going to cut him. If the team was really serious about his health, and Tua wanted to play, they would designate him as a healthy scratch for the rest of the season. He just signed a monster contract so the team is not exactly going to be wanting him to hang it up even if they say that publicly.

He has to let it be a docs decision about not beng able to play, if he wants to collect the cash in his contract. No one on here whose career was pro sports, would walk away from all that contract money in today's economy.

The NFL has plenty of taxpayers money. If they want him to go away to spare their image, then the league can pay him what it is worth.

CBS Sports is reporting that Tom Brady could sign with Miami to replace Tua.
Tom Brady signed a 10 year $375 million dollar contract with FOX to work a cushy job. Now why would he give that up for 1 season in Miami?

Brady might want to try to play as long as George Blanda did.

Blanda played until he was 48.
