You're over the top with the adjectives. The President of the United States actually did pay a porn star $130K a month before the election and has admittedly lied about it (per Rudy). That isn't baseless speculation. Incredibly, it happened.

It is next to impossible to get a wire tap. They have something, solid, that convinced a federal judge to approve the tap.

I am right on point with the adjectives. Just search thru page after page on threads in this forum and watch the news. Just today even. The media idiots totally and completely swallowed this “wiretap” fallacy and were openly speculating on its impact in obvious giddy anticipation. That really did happen today. They were even quoting that idiot Avenatti as an expert on the impact. It was totally ridiculous. And totally incorrect.

And what do you immediately go back to in answer. Stormy! Stormy! Stormy! It’s going nowhere. But yeah. We get it. You really really need that to be a big deal.

It did not happen zep. There was no wiretap. It was a call logger. The whole story has been retracted by NBC.

No voice. No data. No texts. Just phone numbers, time stamp, and length of call

Even if we believe everything you said above is true (which I don't).

How is it relevant to how the United States of America is being run by President Trump?

This is a political attack not a criminal investigation.

Mueller was appointed to investigate Russian collusion and interference with the 2016 election. I can't make any connection to a more than 10 year old extramarital affair.

What evidence was used to start the investigation?

What evidence justified the FISA warrant?

Wow, that is a pretty big screw up by NBC.

Unnamed sources are extremely valuable for far more than Trump. They bring to light things unseen. Without whistle blowers the corrupt weathly would rule over us like an unopposed oligarchy.

Unnamed sources are used quite often indeed. But pretty much all actual journalists have it drilled in their head on the rules that go with them. If your source won’t back you up or stand by what they said then you have to stand alone on it. So verify the veracity independently from as many other means that you can.

I cannot ever remember in my lifetime the sheer number of “unnamed sources” that are quoted as fact and the veracity of the statements get a total pass.

Edit: also I would argue that whistle blower /= unnamed source. They might start that way some time but they eventually have to go on record. They are just granted immunity from retaliation.

Given the way Trump White House operates, it isn't that surprising that leaks are rampant. I mean he is a D-list reality TV star with numerous failing businesses, appointing woefully under-qualified people to head agencies of government. They all talk.

The didn’t have a wiretap, they were logging his calls. Those are easy to have approved.

Which is proving to be a failure so Mueller had to have his compatriots pursue the Stormy story. This isn’t an investigation it’s a witch hunt.

My belief is it's an intimidation tactic, Mueller knows his case against Manafort is shaky so harass his friends, family and associates until he accepts a plea or one of them gives Mueller something.
