TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

Good question, re: Manaforts ability and interest to serve for Trump pro bono:

"...Manafort had been a business partner of Roger Stone, a longtime adviser to Trump, but Stone isn’t exactly a member of the Republican establishment. At the time Manafort joined the Trump campaign I perhaps naively thought that it was because of his relationship with Stone. But it’s the volunteer aspect of it that I can’t get past now. Of course numerous people help out presidential campaigns in the hope of having useful access to the next administration, but Trump wasn’t looking like a future president at the time that Manafort signed up. So, what made Manafort think that Trump had a chance to win the nomination, much less the presidency? Did he perhaps have information that the public didn’t know about?"

And on Trumps $$$ and lack of transparency:

"... “Recent reports have shown that money continues to move into Trump-branded properties from obscured sources like anonymous LLCs and shell companies.” CNBC’s report went on to say, “One such report found that since Trump secured the Republican nomination in 2016, the fraction of anonymous purchases of his properties through shell companies has ‘skyrocketed’ from 4 to 70 percent.”

CNBC pointed out: “The public can only guess at the source of these funds, whether they be foreign governments or wealthy domestic interests—and to what extent unknown sums pouring into other Trump businesses are being used to curry favor with the president.” Is it any wonder that Trump has refused to release his income taxes?"

You actually had a decent post going until the very last sentence. It’s there the ignorance shows.

In regards to the LLC's buying Trump properties, the Trump Organization announced in January of last year that a new corporate ethics officer would screen all real estate deals to prevent conflicts of interest.

LLC's are a very common structure for real estate investors, or private individuals who want personal privacy or safety. Ask any experts in real estate and corporate law, they'll say there are many reasons to create an LLC and use it to buy property. Some buyers, including celebrities, foreign political dissidents and even police officers, may use them to protect privacy. Investment groups use them to purchase properties in partnerships...Also to avoid scrutiny, I mean the left would crucify a 'known' buyer of a Trump property. Also, if you buy, and chose to rent or use as a timeshare, it provides renter protection liability. Also, it serves as a way to avoid double-taxation.

Now of course, there are more nefarious reasons to use LLCs, including to illegally hide assets, shield profits from taxation and launder drug money or funds embezzled from a foreign company or government.

If what’s going on is somebody is buying something from The Trump Organization to buy favor, there’s no way you’d ever figure out who that person is or what favor they’re trying to buy. That seems like a 'stretch', but you never know.

I mean, buying a few units in a hotel isn’t going to make the President jump circles and get you an invite to a White House sit down, or for the Trump Organization to let Daddy Trump know to hook them up... saying profits from individual real-estate sales route through a maze of subsidiaries and eventually become mixed in a large pool of undifferentiated money in the trust. That makes a conflict from an individual sale difficult to possibly imagine.

I think it boils down to a simple answer, hopefully. Because these are all LLC owners, and they don’t want the rest of the world to know, 'hey, I’m the owner of these properties'.

in large scale developments you will deal almost exclusively with LLCs. nothing inherently dishonest with them.

Hope Hicks interviewed today by the House committee.

She would not answer questions about anything at the WH. This would include the infamous meeting on AF1 during which Trump wrote up the phony statement on the meeting between Trump Jr. and the Russian agent, along with Kush and others, to collude with Russia on HRC.

Hope Mueller subpoenas her to the grand jury.

At least post the link that you are half way quoting so people can at least make up their own mind. It's just dishonest to keep doing this crap. They are still asking her questions and she has answered all questions all the way up till the inauguration.

Oh, so maybe she is answering them?

Wonder what she will say about that meeting and the fraudulent Trump press release on it.

You should know these things... That doesn't change the fact that you just blatantly lied about her not answering questions based off of a headline.

she refused to answer any questions about events and conversations that occurred since Trump took office, according to a Republican lawmaker who was there during the proceedings.

Emerging from the meeting with Hicks, panel member Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah) said that “there are some questions that she’s not going to answer,” adding that Hicks was not willing to detail anything from the inauguration forward.

the only way any of that is relevant is if something dirty happened before that she had knowledge of. and if she gave her testimony of the time before there should be a smoking gun or not.

Even the article you posted specifically says they haven't asked her any questions about the transition period yet.

Again, you guys either mislead on purpose or you don't even read the articles you post. It's sad really.

You oblivious read into it what you want. How could you miss that part of the article that I quoted? "She Refused"
