So interesting to see how his views on the subject have evolved

I haven't followed it, can you elaborate? I would have thought a guy like him and with his penchant for extra marital affairs at the drop of a pin might have some lassez faire views, but perhaps I am mistaken.

Apparently, dumb Donald is ALL IN on ensuring a November loss. Given nearly every national poll shows Americans favor abortion rights 60% to 38%, how exactly is this going to help him get re-elected. Don't understand the political calculus here at all.

Trump to attend anti-abortion rally in Washington
Trump's re-election strategy is obviously to pander hard to the far right base. We saw it last week when he was advocating for public school prayer. His strategy is to bank on rallying the base.

He's gotta distract from the fact that he just admitted he does not give one **** about the budget.

Yes, but...

By all accounts, the Trump base is what... 33%? 35% of the population? Max.

It's politics

“I’m very pro-choice,” Trump said in an interview with Tim Russert in 1999. “I hate the concept of abortion. I hate it. I hate everything it stands for. I cringe when I listen to people debating the subject. But you still — I just believe in choice.”
Then when he became a member of the gop he wanted to prosecute women just for seeking one

Name a politician that doesn't pander to their base leading up to the nominations/conventions.

He attended first in 2018. Were your panties all bunched about it then?

President Trump Addresses the 45th March for Life | The White House

Naaahh... think my panties were in the wash that day.

Anti-abortion advocates should be willing to be added to a national "Willing to Adopt" database. Then, we ban abortions except in the case of rape and incest. When their name is randomly drawn from the Adoption Database, they will be given a newborn that otherwise would have been aborted.

All the world's various gods are happy, and no babies die.

I don't disagree, but most politicians aren't quite this obvious about it. Trump is as subtle as a bull in a china shop. I'm not sure it works when it's this easy to see through it.

I don’t buy Trump’s convenient embrace of Christian values any more than I bought Ray Lewis’.

I thought the hero worship of Obama was bizarre, but the Trump-can-do-wrong crowd has cranked it up to 11.
And the Trump can do no right crowd has cranked it up to the top of luther's continuum.

I never see the left whining when the loons on their side pander by going to pro alphabet soup rallies or pro abortion rallies

actually Obama was pretty obvious when it came to gay marriage and right screeched about it. Glad to see they're consistent when it's their guy

Understood, thanks. It is really something I had not paid that much attention to with him.

I cannot say I am surprised. It does still mystify me a bit that people will say that they like him because he's not a politician.
