Trump promises and proposals tracking thread.

Sure. For some. I think the hard core haters and lovers are going to feel a certain way regardless. I think there are those between the two extremes who are more objective. But to be honest, that is based on nothing but a gut feeling.
Or your perception...I would agree...

No, not for this. Unless you want to claim the US has not been at war a single time since 1945
Formally correct... But Congress has authorized Military use after that....which better suited the definition of a war... it's just a documented form formality..

And now you're doing the same thing by massaging the definition to for your view. Trump called it war and by all basic standards we were at war in korea, Vietnam, Iraq, afg, etc

If you want to use feelings to protect trump that's fine but at least be honest

Those all had military use authorized by Congress and Korea was the UN... So now everything Trump says you believe.. Convient

Is Trump promising during his campaign that Iran would not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons on the list?

Everything? Yeah that's what I said

If the POTUS calls it war then that's what's likely happening. He had made it very clear he won't go to Congress so you can keep repeating the idiotic "no new wars" slogan.

Since when can the UN declare war for the USA?

That why I said it's convenient.... Your just a product of confirmation bias... If Trump says it and you agree.. Then Trump's not lying . Of you disagree he is..
Typical

Confirmation bias? That makes no sense.
The POTUS called it war. This isn't some fiscal policy you may disagree with this is the commander in chief describing what the US military is currently involved in.

Words matter and that's why it's better to elect someone who speaks above a middle school level

I think #6 have a big X on it

#2 - Up to you. It's technically no tax on the overtime premium. You are still paying tax on overtime hrs on normal hourly rate

#7 - He did bump up standard deduction for seniors but Id say that's not enough for green check mark

He failed #10

#14 Increased but did not fully reserve SALT

#16 He extended most of the bigger ones so probably enough for green check

Re #7, he didn't follow through with the promise on the benefits side, correct?

Re #2, gotta give credit for a technicality imo but Im open to feedback.

Re #14, how much more is needed for SALT and do you know if there are plans to pursue those in the remainder of his term? SAme for 10...maybe more time is needed. After all it wasn't promised on a timeline like Ukraine war or energy prices.

While we are on the subject of scoring his promises, I feel like his tariff proposal isn't tracking in his favor. Went the opposite direction in fact but those have been repealed or something, right?

Regarding #2

Trump said "Your overtime hours will be tax free"; however, in practice only 1/3 of that amount is tax free (**assuming time and a half). Just think that goes beyond technicality. Im OK with a check mark but at a minimum, a clarifying comment should be included.

Now that you've defined the technicality, I don't think it qualifies. 1/3 is not "overtime is tax free" to me.

His initial tariffs were vacated yes. He then immediately installed a 10% across the board section 122 tariff that will require an act of Congress to extend which has a snowball’s chance in hell of passing. I think it’s a soft no now with a hard no coming in July.

His promise was a 10% tariff baseline and 60% on China.

If not extended he gets a big fat X. We don't grade on intentions 'round cheer'.

#2 should have a caveat as it has limitations on your income. Its not a "no tax on overtime free for all".
