Hillary Clinton Surpasses Donald Trump In Popular Vote Tally: Shades Of 2000? : The Two-Way : NPR

Trump with 97% reporting has 58,935,231 votes nationally. Hillary just passed him.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2012

In 2012, Romey won 60,933,504 votes nationally. Nearly 5 million less than Obama.

Trump will probably get slightly more votes than Romney when its all said and done but the main story is Clinton getting 5 million less votes than Obama.

Trump didn't win this election. He didn't expand the electorate. Hillary Clinton LOST. She alienated 5 million people that voted for Obama but decided to sit this one out.

Obama didn't win the last election, Romney LOST.

And Obama didn't win the election in 2008, McCain lost it.

I actually do think this though. Palin was the nail in the coffin. I regret McCain picking her and derailing his campaign as I think he could have healed a lot of the partisanism that has festered so badly.

If anyone doubts the need for the electoral college today, you need your head examined.

Look when in 2016 you get 5 million less votes than your predecessor in 2012 while the guy who beats you in 2016 gets the same number of votes as the guy who got creamed in 2012, that is losing an election.

Hillary Clinton lost because she allowed 5 million Obama voters to stay home.

Hey white supremacists. Your victory this election was not as grand as you thought. You didn't have all these new voters come out and propel Trump to victory. Instead the same number of yall that voted for Romney voted for Trump. This time it was good enough to win because Hillary Clinton was such a bad candidate that 5 million people who voted for Obama in 2012 decided to stay home.

Is this the narrative now? Trump's win means racism blossoming and growing?

So you prefer the country be led by someone that the MAJORITY rejected?

The electoral college is a sham with racist origins. It was designed to give the slave holding south more say in presidential elections because if the country went to a pure popular vote, the south would always lose since slaves couldn't vote. But with the electoral college, slaves could count as 3/5ths a person for representation purposes and eventhough they could never vote, southern states with large slave populations would have more electors in the electoral college and thus more say in the presidential elections.

Electoral College = racist

Most likely there was less voter fraud this go around due to the purging of decease voters from the rolls. Take your sorry racist behind back to pile of manure you came from.

Small State representation = racism.

Not realizing it gave States with small slave populations like Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and Rhode Island an equal playing field in determining elections = priceless

No. Racism has always been here.

What Trump's win has done is it makes white people more comfortable being racist in our faces with it.

Exhibit A: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Nm3LDs82nU

Trump's win is taking us back to Jim Crow with the way this guy is acting.

It's supes scurry. Do you think my hyper-melanined brothers and sisters will emmigrate to other countries to avoid the genocide?
