Trump Bans Transgenders in Military

The military exists to 1) prevent war, or 2) win war if it cannot be prevented. It is not supposed to be a social experiment.

Meh. I don't care. If model Ts want to serve, there ought to be a unit in which they can.

Trump didn't issue this order to be mean to transgenders. He is doing so because generals are telling him that the military is better off without them.

It will be reversed in court just like "don't ask don't tell" and the military's old policy of not allowing women into combat MOS's.

Probably true. The courts are chock full of Obama lackeys who will try anything to neuter Trump.

I understand. I just think if they desire to serve a platoon of Trans could be created.

The Joint Chiefs and SECDEF Mattis said that there were no problems implementing the policy and that they had delayed its implementation to study its affects on recruiting. This was a political decision made by the President while the SECDEF is on vacation.

Oh I'm sure it will. I don't expect this to last. There's what people say in he open and then there's what they complain about in private.

As with most things this would be for the best, but won't last.

You can argue both sides of this.

For some, frankly nothing about you as a person matters as long as you are pointing your gun the right direction. They don't care how you pee, whether it's sitting or standing or somewhere in between.

For others, any extra stress or distractions are no bueno. They just want to focus on the job at hand and not worry about having to be PC and risk a potential lawsuit or harassment case at any given minute for accidentally calling someone by a pronoun that the person doesn't agree with.

To each their own. Just keep this mess out of SF.

Since when does he listen to the advice of people who know more about a subject than him?

The travel ban and this transgender ban are just meaningless political points that scored with Trump humpers who are afraid of others who aren't like them. This **** only makes a difference to the people inconvenienced by it.

If I'm wrong, please share the horror stories of what it's been like for the military to accommodate transgender people.

Possibly but if so it's a prime example of judicial overreach. Federal Courts should have very little say in military policy.

I really don't care except for the costs involved. Great, you want to be trans, but you need to be full duty ready as your unit requires and pay any transitional expenses out of your pocket. It shouldn't cost the taxpayers any money for people to make the change.

The military isn't the place for social wackiness, sorry. What they're doing is a matter of life or death.
