I posted this under the thread on the same topic, but saw it was mostly bout smoking pot, so i created my own thread here....

I registered solely to clear the air on this topic....I was one of the 12-15 walk-ons who were cut within the past week and have been playing for multiple seasons, and choose to remain anomynous..

As far as the rules about coaches working with players yet, I am not sure of. What I do know is that the workouts this past week consisted of various sprint workouts that were to be completed in set amount of time (18 100's in 16 secs, 30 50's in 10sec's etc) Those walkons who did not make time, were bent over, or even if they had cramps or pulled muscles, if they were walkons, they were cut IMMEDIATLEY...End of story. There was supposedly the option of comming back in 2 weeks to "pass a fitness test" before being reinstated..

I don't understand the gripe. He did what we've been asking for. He set a standard and made the players accountable to the standard. We have been missing that for the entire Fulmer era. Welcome change.

I feel badly for your personal situation, but he has to captain the ship that way.

Did you guys send your moms to talk to coach :birgits_giggle:

If you can't make those times, then how would you expect to compete in the SEC?

Sorry to hear that. If you still want to make the team though, you now have a goal and a time period by which to accomplish that goal. The ball is back in your court.

Having a new set of rules thrust upon you, can not be easy. Being a walk on, and being there for a couple years, you are as much a Vol as we, I am sure. I wish you luck.

I'd like to meet the man that runs 18 100's in only 16 seconds. That is some speed there.

That is right.

Set yourself a goal, and go after it. Hopefully this is being instilled with all the players scholarship, or not.

for the record, I never once said I held anything against the new staff or his decisions, I was simply clearing the air on the topic so there would not be any confusion on the subject....apparently some of you morons like to find reasons to talk s***, just proves how low-class you are

I hate to sound heartless, and I definitely empathize with the OP, but Kiffin doesn't need to spend more than 5 seconds worrying about walk-ons. The fact they got the little running tryout was more than I thought they'd get.

Don't listen to them. You've given more sweat and blood to the UT program than anyone here I'd say. We're all thankful for your contributions.

Question to the OP: did scholarship players participate? I'd venture to say most of them couldn't make that cut.

Please point out the thread on here or the article where this was addressed. I'm just saying its news to me.

Three posts and you are already bashing people for being low class and having an opinion that's not shared by you. Who are you calling low class again??

Kiffin is trying to change a culture that was corrupt with complacency. That is like an emperor in the middle Roman Empire trying to reinstill discipline in his troops. It may make him unpopular, but it is for the good of the state (program).
