A lot of us are criticizing Shoop, because of the points and yards given up. We were supposed to have an Elite defense. Remember?
We lost two All- Conference LBs
We lost what some hoped to be an Elite duo at CB Sutton and Martin
That's tough. Really really tough.

How good would Florida's defense be without
Jarrad Davis, Alex Anzalone, Jalen Tabor, Qunicy Wilson??

How about Bama minus Reuben Foster, Tim Williams, Minkah Fitzgerald, Marlon Humphrey?

That's our reality.
We've turned from a potential smothering defense into a "timely stop" defense. Bend but don't break.

And im so proud of Jumper and McDowell for stepping in and given all they have during this stretch.
Rashaan Gaulden... pivotal! Just clutch so far.
Malik Foreman went brain dead for one play, but otherwise has been SOLID.

It all starts with our Derrick Barnett and the Dline.

Need to get some guys healthy.. Teams are attacking the middle and hitting deep balls. Georgia had a good scheme and pushed us around pretty good yesterday.

Yeah, we need Kirkland and JRM back badly. Weakness right now is Run D which is setting up big pass plays. That said, if you told me we'd be out those 4 guys against UGA and UF being 5-0 would not be something I would expect.

They threw a crazy amount of formations at us as well. Props to Chaney for that.

That Georgia team even without Chubb is very talented.
Keep in mind they began to throw because we finally started to stop the run.

I don't feel like we're getting Kirkland or Reeves Maybin before Bama.

We really needed Justin Martin to play up to his potential. I'm so upset at him.

Corey Vereen and Derrick Barnett are going to take us ar far they can.

TKjr and Abernathy are holding the line too.

I would have laughed if you told me we would have to depend on Colton Jumper during the gauntlet ! Colton has responded with 20 tackles the past two weeks.

We were over rated on D going in to the year. Injuries have made us worse certainly. But we are not seeing development from some key players either (Bates/McKenzie/Phillips). And the poor tackling and giving up on key plays (Foreman) I find to be a real issue. Those are fixable but makes you wonder if the players are really into the system at all.

Bates has been this way through 2 coordinators.

McKienzie is getting double teamed when he's on the field. He's a hole plugger. And thats what hes doing.

Phillips is still injured.

Malik Foreman made a great interception. That should have been the last defensive play. But we couldn't get a 1st down on offense. Malik has played well above his 2 star rating this year.

This defense is missing what many thought would be 4 All- Conference players from one side of the ball.

Nothing OVERRATED about that...

GA wouldn't have had any run game at all yesterday with Kirkland and Reeves Maybin healthy. You lose two of that caliber and it's going to hurt bad.

Could someone share some insight about injuries on d please?

Ask Butch lol.

Sutton is gone for the year.
Kirkland injury was 6 weeks minimum. That was 4 weeks ago.
Sapp is gone for the year.
Phillips has been injured and can't get any reps. Plus Kongbo is playing well.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin could be back next week. Or not.

The Vols have to get better in the Back End, the DB's are getting beat regularly and still don't tackle well.....much improvement needed ASAP

On a positive note; seemed like every time McKenzie and Tuttle were in the game together, the middle was locked down AND it freed up Vereen and Barrnett to create HAVOC; despite the lack of "tackling" calls!

Barnett and Vereen must like that Diamond Rio song "Meet me in the Middle."

I felt like Georgia would be more dangerous without Chubb. Chubb is a pounder but we are built to withstand pounders better. He hasn't been the same since those huge holes he had against NCarolina.

Sony is faster and has very evasive moves. Herrian is going to be a great back with a few more games behind him.

The confusion they created from their quick huddle, gave them an extra step on us.

Got it. It's all the injury bug. No other team but us has them apparently. Thing is even when Kirkland and R-M was in there; we still gave up a lot on the ground. Review the Ap State game.

So are you saying they wouldn't have made a difference,
