I believe that we do in fact have 5-7 3 stars that down the road can be in the group that gets drafted while lots of those awarded 4 stars don’t. How early, hard and long we prioritized them displays OUR evaluation, regardless of services. I suspect some we got and some we missed get a bump this fall. Early service misses.

Bottom line, love when stars sexily validate our target list, but trust our staff’s evaluation skills and will boom when they boom. Especially this class. Closing ground on the big boys is a process and these next 2 years will tell ME a lot on if we are doing that.

I hear you but in my mind this makes the "talent evaluation" in favor of those schools because they find those kids when they are 3 and 4 star but know that they are actually better than that and it ends up being true when their ratings are eventually increased. to me that sounds like they are excellent talent evaluators and they also have the on field record to back it up, well, not A&M but the rest do!

I agree, keeping them is a much bigger issue now than recruiting them! I find myself getting less and less excited about recruiting classes because of the transfer portal.

I mean with the recruiting restrictions we had, we had zero business winning 10 games in a season. Let alone averaging 10 games over 3 years. If you still have doubts about this staffs recruiting efforts, I highly encourage you to read up on what they had to do to follow compliance from the NCAA. It was absolutely insane. Something like 7 months where our coaches literally couldn't even text or call recruits over 5 years including no contact during the week leading up to signing day. Also 28 less scholarships over 5 seasons, and THIRTY SIX less official visits than other schools over that same span. Thats literally where most of your commits come from. It's so impressive what the staff has done and now that the sanctions are almost over, it's going to be next level

Only Texas #1 rated class has more top100 players than us (9). Nobody in texas class is rated as high as Brandon OR Keys. QB is the most important player on the field. QB and #1WR were the 2 most important players on the Suckeyes run to a Title last year.

The 4 WRs we landed in 26 class are INSANE. All 4 of them are GREAT. BEST WR class in the nation. Coach Pope is now the #2 recruiter for the 26 cycle AND #1 in highest average recruit ranking that he landed. Pope needs a raise. He landed really good WR classes in 24, 25, and now THE best WR class in 26. Time for UT to pay that man...
