Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia for about 3 weeks when i was on leave, did a little wandering. I was also flying from Seoul to Chicago with a layover in Tokyo during the SARS scare. I was the only one in the damned airport without a face mask.

Been to St. Martin twice, Dominican Republic once - didn't like, Puerto Rico 4 times, Miami about 6 times, Las Vegas 7 or 8 times, San Francisco 3 times, New Orleans twice, Daytona 3 times, Bar Harbor Maine, Boston twice, Niagra Falls and Atlantic City once. Took a three week road trip from Tennessee to San Fancisco via Yellowstone park then to L. A. back to Tennessee via Grand Canyon, Painted Desert. Took one cruise to Bahamas. In business travelled to many major US cities and Toronto. Also went on week long fishing trip to Northern Ontario.

Bar Harbor is great, though a little bit touristy. My mothers family is from Strong, out towards the Quebec border, back woods Maine.

Coastal Maine is great though, one of the few spots you can catch Cod from the beach

3-4 times per year, business takes me to place such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Germany, England, Italy, and France.....I always schedule time to enjoy time in each country I happen to visit.

Favorite place to vacation each year is a fishing trip in the North Maine Woods for landlocked salmon...the only way I can recharge my batteris is to get off the grid

do you go to Rangely or Moosehead, or the ponds up in the Allagash? My uncle has a deer camp near Rangely, we go up every year, though i've only got a few weekendsper year in recently to deer hunt.

Back in 1990 and 1991 I was on an all expense paid trip to the Middle East. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq were primary locations on the itinerary. I was also able to see Rome, Italy and Brussels, Belgium through the window of the 747 I was flying on.

:thumbsup:I'm a travel agent,where have you been?

OK agent, here's a question I've been curious about: how do you make your money when somebody books a trip? For instance, the last time I went to Europe, we booked hotels, air, and train tickets through an agent, plus a driver one day and a guide another. Do you make straight commission from your bookings? Is it the same for each type of booking? The best I can tell, all I paid the agent for was a small ticketing fee for the airline.

Man ,you don't know the half of it! It's tough.Hotels,Car rentals, that's about it,Book with me and I don't charge anything for my advice, which is easier than searching for it.I got a Reservation system.Pay to have one so no one can beat me at a price on anything.

But seriously folks...We have been to to Cozumel, Jamaica, and Hilton Head lately. We have our sights set on Hawaii, any tips travel agent, or anybody who's been there?

It was good, but we also stopped in Boothbay Harbor and actually liked it better. We went the week after Labor Day and had the place almost to ourselves. Discovered that wonderful creation lobster rolls. Bought them right at the dock for about $2 a piece.

I like to go a bit further up north....near the Allagash, several great ponds/lakes for salmon. We usually include a canoe trip down the Allagash on mornings when they release water at the Church Hill dam....nice ride.
