Is South Carolina the classic "Trap Game?" Think about it, we are coming off a high scoring win over and SEC opponent while being picked to lose, we are playing our best football in years, players are having fun. I feel like we will know this week if coach Hype knows how to keep his team focused.
I am somewhat optimistic by coach Ekeler's tweet saying practice was "great" but I just hope the players stay focused and are not looking to the next game with the "Lane Train" coming to town.

P.S I love what this coaching staff is doing. They are putting the "Family" atmosphere back in this team and making everyone want to play for each other.

It could be. That's why I predicted Tennessee to win a hard fought game with them by only three points. Games against South Carolina in recent years seem to be very close. I attended the 2013, 2015, and 2017 games. All three of those games were nailbiters. South Carolinas run defense usually gives Tennessee problems for some reason.

I don’t think the players give two-sh*t’s about the “Lane-Train”. Lane lives in the fans heads…not the players. They have zero connection with him to make this anything more than any other game.
Well said.
Players were around 10 years old +/- a couple years when all that went down.

It's not a trap game. I suspect some of you Vols fans underestimate how hungry our guys are for wins. If anything, they will play harder against USC because they want it loud and clear that Mizzou wasn't a fluke. If this team stays relatively healthy, given our thinness, they're going to make a lot of noise, and I mean a lot.

Are you saying the players think they are so good after beating MIZZOU that they can rest on there laurels (the laurels of victory)…. That would be pathetic

Real Simple, South Carolina has a roster full of players who are so talented they were given a full ride to play football for a SEC team. Every Conference game is a trap

It's very possible but hopefully the team is focused and not reliving the blowout.

What is hilarious is this board went from "IDK about CJH " to "So do I order my SEC champ hoodie now or ..."

Sunshine Pumpers gonna pump.

My attitude is the same. I think Heupel is a good guy, solid coach, and can develop talent. Good staff manager. Not sure if he can recruit at the level needed to compete for championships in the SEC.

At worst, however, he will be a good stabilizer. At best, he shocks us all and brings in top classes.

It is never impossible. But Heupel seems to have them bought in to the idea of playing to their own standard rather than to the level of the opponent.
