A transfer cable is included. You can move your 20gig to the new HD. You cannot move it back afterwards. You cannot move more than 1 20gig drive to the new one. Basically, it's one way if you're upgrading. I also believe any data on the 120gig drive is saved when this operation is performed, so you'll want to do it first thing if moving machines.

Not sure if you can continue to use the old one without a reformat.

Xbox 360 120GB HD

There are a handful of retailers that seem to be selling the 120GB hard drive upgrade for the Xbox 360 already. [H] reader Kyle Dobbins found this one at his local Wal-Mart and sent us pictures of the kit. Looks fairly painless, just attach the new drive via the included cable, drop the disc in the tray and there you have it. All you Core 360 owners can expect a flood of cheap 20GB hard drives on eBay soon.

I was wrong earlier. The transfer cable is not included in the Elite, only the 120g drive by itself.

Should be able to find them cheap soon on ebay. Once you use it, you never need it again.

Be warned, it will format your drive when bringing it over, so if you don't do it first thing, you'll loose whatever you put on there before you do transfer you old drive over.

i borrowed a friends xfer cable to migrate my files from my 20gb to my new HDD well I just found out that the dang xfer cable is only good once, they (microsoft) have a brick built into it so that once it is used it cant be used again. Fortunately all I had to do was call MS at 18004myxbox to get one sent to me for free. no biggie i guess. But seems pretty stupid for them to do this one time thing, what a waste of money and resources!
