He is a 1st baseman only. Doesn't have the stuff to pitch in SEC at this point and with Levi coming back and some coming in there would not be a spot for him. He read the room. Smart move. Great kid. No one at fault.

Looks to me like we’ve got a pretty strong nucleus of returning players. Would be crazy if Grimmer and/or Wright return but I’m not holding my breath. Just hoping for the best. Could a miracle happen with Ford as well? 0.05% he returns but if returns and has a healthy season could he bat close to .400, hit 30 bombs and and be a top 5 pick? I’m dreaming I know

This a totally presumptive reaction the one commitment pic floating out there, BUT...I think Kersey will bring back a little of that Tennessee intensity of the TV era. We saw a little from Kuhns, App, and Mack, but we need a Lipcius/Beck/Gilbert/Fischer personality in the order to get the bats fired up, too.

We will have that in Gridlinger I think. Just watching him he’s definitely got some juice

So far with returners from last year:
Grindlinger C (R)
Lawless C (R)
Clark 1B, C, OF (R)

Assuming are back as of now:
Brown OF (L)
Eisfelder OF (R)
Myatt UTL (L)

Portal:
Kersey 1B/DH (L) - COMMITTED
Sounders OF (R)
Hanoian INF (S)

Not including any HS guys until after draft. Need some more lefty juice and middle infield pieces for sure. Hanoian is surely a priority with his high AVG and OBP with position of need. Expecting SS/3B to come from portal unless major HS commit like Koeninger somehow slips to us. Jaxson Wood a potential talented Freshman option as well.

It'll be interesting to see how we fit Grindlinger, Lawless, Clark, and Kersey into the lineup. I assume Clark will play RF or Kersey will play 2B. My only reason for thinking Kersey can play 2B is because it's listed as one of him positions on baseball-reference.com so take that with a grain of salt. Clark doesn't look like a typical outfielder, but he moves pretty well for his size.
