Interesting article I read the other day. It went back 7 years and showed the top 25 recruits to have in each year, where they went, and what they are doing now.

It was suprising to see how many I didnt even recognize, or had failed to produce.

Does anyone have a list to post?

That class had so much expectations, plus MAhelona, Toeiana coming in as juniors, The addition of Sears, Young, Meachem, Swain, Smith in 03, everything was perfect going into 05 for a national title and it freaking fell apart.

It fell apart in 05 and Ive heard people talking about 08 being our year.... hopefully the team wont hear about 08 until after the 08 season

How high we are ranked and if we have a shot in 2008 will likely be determined in 2007, such as a DT stepping up (Bolden), Berry being a stud, McKenzie stepping up, McNeil/McClendon/Foster/Parker/Scott/Johnson being a formidable o-line, recievers stepping up and so forth. We are capable of all of those things, there is no doubt we will be LOADED WITH TALENT in 08, but for a national title you have to have eveery piece fall into place such as Warren being eligible or Morley coming back. It will be a fun ride for the next several years with the classes of 05 and 07 coming together to form a special team.

Exactly its all about talent and if we can develop these last couple of classes we should be ready to win the SEC and possibly go undefeated and play for the NC. There'll be a couple pieces we need like DT and i just heard about that 375lbs JC from Mississippi having us in his top 4.. getting him definately wouldnt hurt.

take the guys that committed to Tennessee off of the 2002 list and most of the list actually produced, how is it that almost every single Tennessee commit on that list was a complete bust, is it possible that we just whiffed that many times or was it lack of coaching on our part?

A guy people forget about is the Army All-American lineman Heath Benedict who plays for Newberry(NC) College. He's projected by a lot of scouts to be a 1st round draft pick. There was talk of him going early last year. He's massive at 6'6'' 320.
Here's a profile on him

Hasnt been updated in a while though. He trained in Knoxville over last summer and reportedly can run a 4.8.
