Top priorities to give the Vols their best shot at a Championship

I'm w/ you 'Boro-Vol; we're middle pack in sec, too bad our coach makes over $2 mil per year for middle of pack results. Even the Buzz Peterson of NCAA Football (Mike Shula) could keep us at least in the middle of the pack for much less $$$.

We need at top tier coach
:cray: jeez. get over it.

2 things Law.

1. Tebow to Harvin scares me very badly.
2. No matter what, a one point game is very, very close.

1. That may turn out to be true, but what prove do we have that it is? I mean, I have no idea whether Tebow can throw the ball consistently. Maybe he can, maybe not. At this point, it's just conjecture.

i wish some had the same perspective when talking aobut TN for the 07 season. besides qb and rb, the rest of the team is basically all conjecture at this point, yet many are saying "SEC title or Bust"......doesn't make sense to me.

but LG was waxing poetic about Tebow the Great and the guy has yet to lead the team on a scoring drive.

oh i know, but having seen what i've seen from Tebow and Harvin thus far, i have more reason/evidence to believe LG than i do some of us when we begin talking about replacing WR, DB's, etc.. and developing current players on D line, LB and O line.

we have plenty more questions going in to 07 than UF does. UF has to find replacements on d, no doubt and that will be huge. but the offense, by all accounts, should be OK. Tebow is a lot further along in his development than most of us would like to admit. and i do agree, he has to prove it as the every down guy....i just have more evidence to say he will than he won't.

If you mean a BCS championship, I'd say top priority is to join the Big LEast.

If its to win the SEC, I'd say top priority is to improve offensive line play.

LG, did your Gators' title run teach you nothing? To win the East, you are going to have to have a very good team with a very good record. Win the conference and you have a very good shot at making the title game.

What I can say with great confidence is that, as a team, Florida outperformed Tennessee in both games and every indication is that Florida is loaded up to do it again. And again. And again. And again.

You have much more confidence in a new starting quarterback, a new set of starting receivers save 1, a new tailback, and 9 new starting defensive players than I would.

That being said, I agree that the O-line play must improve dramatically. A playmaker also needs to emerge at receiver.

Offensive line and defensive line. The rest will follow. I think the Gators may have a loss or two in them next year. As UGA found out this year, it is hard to replace members of a fast, physical D even if you have bookends returning.

you certainly have a point. Good offensive and definsive line will speed up the dev. of the new playmakers and DBs.
