Top Party Schools.

The problem is the older generations from 60s 70s and 80s who had a lot more freedom are now making it harder to have house parties and basically be a kid and have fun. Very hypocritical.

I went to that party school. I don't remember anything too crazy happening at any of the street fests but Halloween always and for a couple years the Spring time change got pretty wild.

This is all cyclical. UT was #1 one year when I was there

Was at UT from 2000-2002. Good party school in those years. Finished at UMCP (which is now in the Top 20) and it was a graveyard compared to UT.

Here's an email we got from the VP of Student Affairs. The admin is freaking out right now.

Today the Princeton Review's "Best 376 Colleges: 2012 Edition" was released and as many of you may already know, Ohio University was ranked as the #1 Party School in the nation. While some of you may think this ranking is something to be proud of, I want you to know that I am disappointed in the ranking for several reasons:

It is an unscientific ranking and is not indicative of the overall experience of OHIO students.
It does not match the data we have collected (49% decrease in alcohol-related judicial violations and an 8% decrease in self-reported high-risk drinking, OHIO: Compass | Alcohol and Other Drug Survey).
It devalues your Ohio University degree. Don't be surprised when potential employers bring it up in a job interview.
It perpetuates a false assumption that Ohio University does not enforce the Code of Conduct and the laws of the State of Ohio.
As you are well aware from visiting friends at other institutions, party scenes can be found at any college campus.

I know that Ohio University students are among the best and brightest in the country as evidenced by your campus engagement, academic achievements, and success after graduation. I am proud of your accomplishments and proud to serve as your Vice President for Student Affairs.

Join me today in celebrating not a party school ranking, but why Ohio University is a great place to learn and grow.

That's what you get OU for kicking my fraternity off campus so you could take our house and turn it into some foreign student center!

The "devaluing of the degree" is a bunch of crock. There are (and not to bring the US News argument into this) 5 schools ranked in the Top 50 Nationally on that list:

UCSB - 39
UT-Austin - 45
UW-Madison - 45
Penn State - 47
Illinois-Champaign - 47

It should be mentioned that another 4 schools on that list are in the Top 56.

I still remember the year we were an asterix at the bottom of the list. The footnote said UT wasn't considered because the list was for amatures and we were clearly a professional party school.

@franfraschillaFran Fraschilla
@DanWetzel Ohio U, the top party school in NCAA? I coached there. It's a professional drinking school! NCAA checking amateurism issues.
