As a playcaller, it is hard to beat kiffin. As a person, not so much.
Actually it was supposedly Charlie Wies Jr calling the plays last year.

The one I don’t see on there is Ryan Grubb. Maybe this year but definitely not last year.

Taking Heupel out to remove bias, I still would take Beck over Kiffin personally. The guy has beaten Bama and Tennessee amongst many other teams. He maximizes talent imo more than anyone on the list.

If you have the top coach in the league, but you aren't sniffing the conference finals .....

Then Danny needs to open the checkbook for CJH like he just did for basketball and baseball and give him an entire team of elite players to call plays for. The coach can only work with what he’s got and in this day recruiting is about dollars.

Btw, I think Danny will do that in the next football cycle. This will be a tough year with our schedule and decent talent level. Next year is likely to be a whole different story unless congress puts a salary cap in place.

I thought about this but wasn't sure if it was more him or more Pavia or both. Next year will tell the tale.

Pavia was good but Beck got the most out of him and the talent around him. Again I won’t go into defending Heupel a bunch bc I’m biased but he’s also been phenomenal at developing the QB position of the players that actually show up to be developed
