UCLA and Kansas State were #s 2 and 3. Miami had taken care of UCLA and Brandon Stewart and A&M had taken down the Wildcats.(Orangewhiteblood @ May 13 said:I would have to say that the best game I have attended was the Florida game in 2004. Second place would have to be the SECCG against Miss St. our National Championship season.
I can't remember who was #2 and #3, but I remember that by the time we left the hotel room, we knew that we just had to win that game to get into the NC game. I had my doubts for a while..
I know that's just two, I'll have to think about the rest.
I always add this caveat when people talk about our loss to LSU in '01, so I'll also add it to Florida's loss to us for consistency's sake. Florida didn't lose a shot at the National Championship. They lost a chance to get the living h**l beaten out of them by Miami.(Vol 4 Life @ May 14 said:2001 Florida - Simply unbelievable game, we traded blow for blow and beat Spurrier in his finale at home, crushing the gators hopes and dreams for a shot at the national title.
1998 Florida - Surreal environment, Neyland was at its finest at night. Cataclimistic win for the program.
And in no particular order...
1995 Georgia
2004 Florida
1996 Alabama

Miami had soundly beaten the Gators in the Sugar Bowl the previous year. The result would have been no different in the Rose Bowl. I agree with you about UT's 2001 season. I would consider it a success.(Vol 4 Life @ May 14 said:I see where you're coming from with that, but with all the psycology that goes into a game, you never know what could have happened with a different opponent. Different match-ups, different mistakes or lack thereof, different momentum changing plays...
But at the end of the day, other than the fact that we didn't win the SEC Championship, I was pretty happy with the way the 2001 season ended up waxing Michigan. Probably wouldn't have enjoyed the bowl game experience quite as much if we'd been playing miami.
