I was talking to a friend today and we were discussing the top 5 shooters in the NBA since around 1985. I pick that date because I was 8 then and thats when I can remember with clarity the NBA games I watched. Just wondering what other people's top 5 are.

I had Bird, Miller, Allen, Price. FOr the 5th, I was debating Kerr vs Nash. I know Kerr has/had the best percentage all time but he was never the straw that stirred like Nash was.
Mullin was definately clutch and was my favorite player on NBA Jam.

Replace Kerr with Glen Rice and you've got my list. Also, Drazen Petrovic would be at or near the top of that list if his career hadn't been cut short.

Are we talking percentage wise or game changers?

You would think they would be the same but then i look at the answers above and wonder.

Steve Nash hasn't even been the best shooter on his own team for most of his career.

He has one of the highest 3 point shooting percentages in the NBA. I like him because he is a point that can shoot.

Johnson, Barbosa, and Bell could shoot it just as well though.

I'd replace Kerr with Rice all day long. Just couldn't think of anyone else off the top of my head. I also agree that Price was a better shooter. Byron Scott was also deadly and I'd have to place him over Kerr.

Hell, Thunder Dan was a better shooter and Nowitzki is no doubt a better shooter.

Nowitzki deserves some consideration on the top 5 list. When he has it rolling, he shoots that high arcing step back thing and barely moves the net. I love it.

Big shot Bob was pretty good as long as there were less than 5 seconds in the game.

Mitch Richmond wasn't too bad either and Craig Hodges used to own the 3 point contest.

Mitch Richmond had a good 4-5 year run in the mid 90s.

I'd go with Bird, Miller, Allen and Rice....can't really narrow down my 5th.
