Yeah it has sucked for a decade. It is what it is. If you could have changed it then it probably wouldn't have sucked so bad or maybe we would have won the championship. NOT! Quit your *****in' legions of miserable. All the posts from couch wide recievers that have never ran a 5.6 and all the posts from deer hunters that have never even killed a buck (even with a spotlight out of their truck) are just too much. Hell if your so good then walk on as our middle line backer. Get a F'ing grip and either support the boys or don't. I'm sick of the armchair coaches and players. How bout a new rule for Vol Nation? If you would like to criticize our players then list your age, star rating out of high school, and how many years of eligibility you have left first in the beginning of your post. If you have ever coached in the SEC then post your stats as well.

I still could run under a 5.6

I have never been president so I probably shouldn't vote next year

Perfect response.

Is this just the world we live in today? If you don't like something you're not allowed to voice it? If there were no fans, there would be no football team. If there were not citizens, there would be no country. We the fans are the ones that this football team affects, we're supposed to voice our opinion in times of good and bad. We praised Butch and the Vols all offseason and end of last year. We can criticize them when they do poorly.

What world do you live in?

You can support a team without agreeing to every decision that's made. Butch's gameday decisions are suspect.

I buy Vols merchandise and tickets, so I should be able to complain if I feel the need or want. Fans pump money into the program and don't get the results they want. It's similar to taxation without representation.

What we are scared of is that Butch can build a top 5 program but can only game coach a mid major game. And so far, he has offered some evidence to that effect, both good and bad. I am not paid to be a fan, Butch and his staff ARE paid to coach however.

If it wasn't for this awesome fan base who spend money, traveling to all the games , pack Neyland stadium when the opponent is DII SCHOOL, football would an intramural sport. Get off your high horse, I travel, checker board, I CHEER and yell for our vols and against our opponents.if I see bone head calls from our coach I'm gonna talk about it. I been following the vols since 79' I've earned my damn VFL card. GoVols!

The stages of Volnation after a loss:

1. Meltdown
2. Needing explanations
3. Anger
4. Bickering
5. "Done with this program."
6. True fan threads like this one.
7. We can still have a successful season.

Number 6 is by far the most annoying.

Sigh… Another thread calling out the fans for just being critical. Ridiculous.

So just because we've never played or coached college football then we aren't qualified to even talk about the game? That makes ZERO sense. Sorry brother, but most of us are actually pretty knowledgable about this sport.

Most of the criticisms levied against the coaching staff aren't real complicated either. They deal with common sense. Be aggressive. Open up the playbook. Stop calling timeouts when you stop the other team on 3rd down and their special teams unit is out on the field. Stop declining penalties. Stop going conservative once we have a lead and are in control of the game. Stop talking about how young we are. Stop making excuses. Grow a freaking pair and own up to your mistakes. STOP COACHING SCARED!

Most of these critiques aren't really about the Xs and Os. They are about the overall philosophy and attitude of the coaching staff. All most of us are really saying is stop coaching not to lose the game, and start coaching to WIN the game. Also, many experts and pundits around the country, many of whom did coach or play CFB, are saying the exact same things that Vol fans are saying right now.

Bottom line: Just because we are critical of the coaches doesn't mean that we aren't supporting the team and the program. Just the opposite, in fact.

Mid major coach.

Bottom line.

He either gets with the program and learns to be a big boy or he'll be back in a mid major program selling hopes and dreams.

I bet the OP was one of those that defended Dooley from the start until the very end.
Butch is in over his head. Not only have Tn fans seen it but the entire country has witnessed his coaching blunders. The sad part is, he still has 8 more games to screw up and he wont be able to help himself from doing it.

Hey OP, it doesn't take any stars coming out of HS nor any coaching credentials to state the obvious.

Remind of the other fan bases that sold out a 102k stadium for a team coming off a 7-6 season.

Mid major fans don't pack their stadium of 102,455 week after week, year after year

Mid major fans don't travel in the thousands and even tens of thousands to games played hundreds of miles away from their home city/state

Mid major fans don't buy more of their team's jerseys/gear than 95% of top programs

Mid major fans don't continue to wildly support their team despite a decade of feckless, incompetent, losing football.

What a stupid post.

Mid major fans don't have 5000 users online at once on their message boards.

The only thing mid major is this thread.

My experience differs. People are incredibly thin skinned. Everyone has a complaint. Everyone has been slighted, wronged, or disrespected.

It's because of fans like this that we hire Mid-Major coaches, then wildly support them, even though they're clearly way out of their league.
