4. 2016 - Dobbs to Jennings Hail Mary - After Georgia scores with 10 seconds left to play to take the lead The Vols put the Dobbs nail boot In Their throats with a Joshua Dobbs to Jauan Jennings 43 yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to win the game as time expires.



5. 1991 - Block field and Touchdown return - The Miracle at South Bend. Trailing 31-7 with time expiring in the first half Notre Dame lines up for a field goal but Darryl Hardy gets the block and Floyd Miley scoops and scores with a 85 yard return. This gives the Vols all the momentum at halftime and Tennessee comes all the way back to win 35-34.

The only ones I'd consider adding was when Deon Grant intercepted a deep pass from UF - and/or - Chuck Webb's TD run against top-10 Ark in the Cotton Bowl for the win in Jan 1990 - and/or - Von Reeves (TE) pass to Alvin Harper for a TD against UF in a 45-3 blowout in 1990 - and/or - Jay Graham running for a TD against Ohio State in the Citrus Bowl

And honestly, I'm not so sure if FSU was even the 2nd best team that year. K-State had a REALLY strong team that year until they stumbled the last game of the season. If we had faced them instead of FSU, I'm not so sure we would've won. Their offense was extremely potent.

They might’ve, but they still beat Florida with Outzen at QB to end the season. They were very capable.

1992 when Mose Phillips ran “through, around, over, and underneath defenders for South Carolina” might be my favorite single play. It’s certainly not the most consequential, and it was in a losing (and very costly) effort, but it was beautiful.

I am so happy that you phrased play #1 properly. "Billy Ratliff pushed Brandon Burlsworth into Arkansas Quarterback Clint Stoerner causing him to stumble and fumble" I have heard way too many people, including many on Volnation over the years denigrate Tennessee's 1998 National Championship saying that play was Lucky. That is ABSOLUTE Hogwash! (No pun intended) That was a 110% hustle play being rewarded with positive results no ifs, ands, or buts! Luck had absolutely NOTHING to do with it. Anyone who knows anything about football can see that clearly when you watch the slow motion replay. I hope all those negaVols that call that play lucky simply have never seen the slow motion replay. Otherwise, they need to question their own Vol Fan Status. By the way, I know 1. led to the National Championship but I still have a hard time calling 1 over 2, or 2 over 1.

Kansas State played one of the weakest schedules ever (as usual for them) and lost to the only good team they played.

UT would've steamrolled them on offense, running the ball down their throat
