Until Cade Mays wins his appeal I won't put him on here. The 2020 class is or may be completely finished, so I wanted to see what everyones Top 5 impact Newcomers were.

1) Dee Beckwith WR/TE 6'5 225
- Hasn't played a ton of football but has outstanding timing and athletic ability. He will immediately demand attention over the middle and will make defenses pay on short yardage runs.

2) Keyshawn Lawrence CB/FS 6'1 200
- We've been in awe of this kid for 4 years and he's finally on Rocky Top. He has a level of playmaking ability our very solid secondary doesn't have. Look for him to start in a veteran secondary.

3) Jaylen Hyatt WR 6'1 170
- 80 rcp 2,100 yards 26 TDs against the best competition in South Carolina- in ONE season. 4.3 40 and an already savvy route runner with strong hands. He can take the top off a defense and tranform everything an offense can do.

4) Bryson Eason LB 6'2 270
- Moves too well for a guy his size. Bone crushing tacker who can play all 4 LB positions . He could start beside Henry To'oto'o.

5) Harrison Bailey QB 6'5 220
5 star QB who has more hype than any QB in the past 20 years. Whether he starts or not. His impact will be felt immediately. Because if the other QBs don't improve enough, then you better believe Pruitt is going throw this kid out there with our 5 star line and see what happens.

GO VOLS!! Win the East!

Lawrence may start before any of them on the list.

He’s gonna start next to Jaylen or play CB. Trevon is hurt too often.

Also don’t sleep on Morven and Lenneth. Morven will replace WGWTFA and I think lenneth can play safety tbh.

People are seriously sleeping on Whitehead. Between he and Beckwith, short yard struggles are a thing of the past.

Right now. He's the only Freshman that starts imo.

Beckwith will have a lot of impact in numerous offensive roles, but I don't see him starting game one.

There is almost immediate playing time available for incoming TEs. Beckwith needs to get bigger, but I could see him having an early impact as a receiver similar to the way Chris Brown saw the field back in the day. There is going to also be some serious buzz at the spring game for Bailey. I have not been this stoked in a while.

We have absolute 0 at the TE position.. that being said.. Dee is going to need some weight and some practice next to the Oline if he plans on playing TE.

Whitehead is 6’1” & 230 LBS. That is a big safety. LB will most likely be his position IMO. We definitely need a pass rusher out of this class to make an immediate impact & MJ appears to be that guy.

Malacai Wideman : Tall, freak athlete and can be a end zone receiver. I will put my stock on him along with the names you mentioned.
Wideman is going to need a year in the S&C program I believe. He may be too talented to keep off the field but as of right now his body is not SEC ready. He and Hyatt are going to compete for backup roles on the outside I think.

He's a WR, not a TE. One of his reasons for picking UT over FL is that Fl wanted him to play TE and I don't think he's interested in playing that position.

I know! Isn’t it great

Jackson Lowe will be in the mix. I am not so sure about Jacob Warren though.
Again 0 😆

He was recruited to play RB at UT and he's exactly what we need at that position I think.

Yeah he played D & O in HS. I trust CJP will get him in the position group that gives him the best chance to succeed. This class has quite of few athletes that could play multiple positions. Good to see.

Does "impact newcomers" mean players who will have great careers here or players who will have an impact in 2020?

In terms of guys who can have an impact in 2020, I wouldn't be shocked to see either Malachi Wideman and/ or Jalin Hyatt make the 2-deep at WR. Wideman feels like the most game-ready WR in our excellent haul; he's an elite WR and he already has SEC size. Not sure if Hyatt will be "instant impact" but I feel like he's a special talent; he may need 1 year to add some muscle in S&C to see the field, but then again, he may come in and be good enough to make the 2-deep immediately.

Keyshawn Lawrence seems like the most likely guy on the defensive side of the ball to see action early. Pruitt has played Freshman DBs the past 2 seasons and Lawrence is good enough so that he'll likely be on the field in September.

Harrison Bailey is good enough that he could take over the starting QB job this season. It's hardly guaranteed and even some very great college QBs weren't ready as true Freshmen, but there aren't many QBs in the country that can place the football with the precision that Bailey can.

There are a lot of players in this class who I think will be very good in 2021 or 2022 (and particularly on the defensive side, a lot of best recruits might need 1 year of S&C and development to make the 2-deep), but those are 4 I could see potentially finding big roles in 2020.

As exciting as a lot of our incoming freshman are, I would think that Cade Mays probably has the biggest immediate impact being that he's already been playing well against SEC competitors.

True, as the OP stated, we don't actually have him now. It's like the Aubrey Solomon situation, physically present but we're not allowed to put him on the field. Hope Kirby and the SEC pontiffs don't Jim Harbaugh us.

1. Jalin Hyatt - Got a feel he's going to give us a type of big play ability at WR we haven't had in recent years. Jennings had his own way of making big plays. I think we'll see Hyatt get behind defenses regularly and take little slants for big yardage ala Jaylen Waddle. I think he starts.

2. Keyshawn Lawrence - He's been discussed plenty already. I think he starts.

3. Harrison Bailey - He's been discussed plenty already. I think he starts the 2nd half of the season.

4. Morven Joseph - He has an opportunity to work himself into some blitz packages.

5. Dee-Dee Beckwith - I wasn't kidding when I said I'd rather have him than the 6-7 guy (forgot his name already). Beckwith is more versatile and far more athletic. Chaney will find ways to get him involved.

Others who wouldn't surprise me at all if they moved to the top of this list: Jimmy Calloway, Malachi Wideman and Jimmy Holiday (unless he stays at QB, that could take a few years).

I'm not expecting much from the running backs other than depth. Same goes for the other linebackers even though I think they're all solid players.
