We already have two names on the list in the second link. If Coach O had been in college football this past year he would probably be on that list.

Eddie Gran is on the list and should be on the staff recruiting for us now.

2007, Reaves and Drayton were on there.

Gran seems like a great coach. I think we have to get some african american coaches though. You need diveristy on the staff. Also other schools would use that agaist you recruiting.

If their good enough. We don't HAVE to have any specific race on the coaching staff, what does it matter, if your good enough you'll get the job. I hate people playing the race card because they didn't get the job they wanted. Plain and Simple.

Torrain Gray from VT would be good coach for DB's. Not sure about his recruiting success but VT has produced several NFL CB's lately and the Tech D was 4th in the nation against pass.

IMO you do. 85% of the players we recruit are african american. I am not playing any cards. I am just being realistic. Other schools would use that if we didn't. And it would hurt us.

Either way there are a ton of african american coaches who would be great hires and would diffently have interest if contacted with the money we are throwing around. One was Garner. That didn't work out. On to the next Coach.

Agreed. I think there are quite a few qualified black candidates though.

I'm not a proponent of hiring a sub par coach based on race. I am a fan of being an equal opportunity employer though, and having some black coaches would be beneficial.

Lane Kiffin - RC at USC, every year he was they had the #1 class
Ed Orgeron - 2004 National recruiter of the year
Monte Kiffin - has the name to bring in kids and has a great personality
David Reaves - 2007 Top 25 Recruiter (first year as RC brought in consensus Top 10 class)
Stan Drayton - '06, '07 Top 25 Recruiter
Jim Chaney - RC at Purdue, Tom Lemming is extremely high on him

This is a hell of a recruiting staff and hopefully they'll be able to coach them up.

Mullen hired Frank Wilson from Southern Miss but I haven't seen anything were Hughes was hired. Wilson was recruiting cordinator at Southern Miss. Hughes will probably will that role.

I just remember him hiring someone from USM and figured it was Hughes. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

According to Google, no news of Hughes to Miss. St.

He is still at Southern Miss.

We have four people to add to that list! It is really looking pretty good so far.
