Rivals.com College Football - Rivals.com Top 100 NFL Draft prospects

Ainge isn't on the list but Hefney is??? Has this guy even seen Hef play this year? In that case has anyone seen Hefney actually play this year...

I've always heard that Rivals is one of if not the worst scouting service out there...no matter what sport or level of that sport they are looking at...

For this guy to say Hefney is top 100 but Ainge isn't is proof that he hasn't watched a single UT game this year

No deep threat doesn't help Ainge out w/ this ranking. 5 yards or so a completion won't get him ranked high. Who cares though, the scouts will pick who they think is the best and he could no.1 if they thought he was that good.

That is true..I think Ainge is a good QB but If he doesnt throw it more than 5 to 10 yards then I dont think he will be on that list..

No, it doesn't, but his numbers are still very good.

There are only six QBs on the list (including the uncertains at the bottom:) Brohm, Woodson, Booty, Brennan, and Henne are hard to argue with as being equivalent pro prospects as Ainge at this point; I don't know that much about Ryan. I do think Ainge's workouts will impress and move him up the list. His height, arm strength, and the tuteledge he has received will help him when the tape measures and standardized tests come out.

This list has no bearing on how NFL team will make picks at the draft. So, its pretty pointless. Ainge is certainly a Top 100 draft pick. Hefney is borderline late round/free agent signing at this point. Brown is a very good "football player" but doenst fit all the physical attributes to be a high draft pick. His height (as pointed out above) is an issue. His speed is solid, but not great. He will find a niche in the NFL though, in my opinion.

You are wrong about Rivals. There may be a gross oversight in this article, but I have found Rivals to be FAR more reliable than Scout and ESPN by a LONG shot.

Interesting to say the least. I am not a big Ainge fan, but to say he is not in the top 100 is down right insulting. I have felt that Ainge reminds me a little of Doug Johnson and Chris Rix. He can make all the throws but I question the mental aspect of his game. I also feel that Ainge is a victom of a crappy recieving corp too. Just my two Lincolns.

This of course makes no difference, but we were somewhat serious contenders for the following. I am sure there are more. I know some of these we were never the leader. But we were in it for the long haul. These are just the ones off the top of my head.

Brian Brohm
Darren McFadden
Kenny Phillips
Michael Oher
Adarius Bowman
Felix Jones

There's a bumper crop of offensive tackles this year. Off the top of my head...

Sam Baker (USC)
Jake Long (Michigan)
Gosder Cherilous (Boston College)
Mike Oher (Ole Miss)
Ryan Clady (Boise State)

Jared Gaither from Maryland would be there if not for flunking out and being taken in the supplemental draft for a FIFTH ROUNDER

I could see Jake Long's stock drop a little bit due to the poor michigan season. Baker will be a top 5 pick.

Long is still the prototype NFL tackle...Big, tall, long arms, great footwork. I doubt very seriously his stock will plummet because of Michigan's bad start.

He doesn't play D and he doesn't throw/catch/run the football so I fail to see how any of Michigan's woes are going to effect were he's drafted

Keep in mind that the top 100 is basically a first day grade.

I'd say it's far from certain that Ainge is a surefire 1st day pick.

Pardon if I completely disagree, but by the end of the season Ainge will emerge as a solid mid-late second draft pick at worst. He has the arm, accuracy, and the head to get it done at the next level if he is developed properly.

Edit: I suppose I can see where you are coming from saying that right now he is not a surefire first day pick.

Yes, that is where I am coming from. It's so hard to tell about how these things will shake out with 75% of his SR season remaining, plus all of the shuffling that goes on prior to the draft.

Correct. The combine means more than 4 years of work a lot of the time.

I think that Ainge is a 2nd round pick at worst right now. His ability to run the pro style no huddle this off season has made him rocket up draft boards. Also, how many nfl teams air it out like a college team? Not many is the answer. The NFL QB position is all about being able to make the right reads and not make mistakes. Ainge is a future Pro Bowler.
