6. LB Henry To'oto'o, Tennessee
There haven't been many positives so far for 0-2 Tennessee, but To'oto'o has been one of the Vols' standouts. Despite the loss to Georgia State, To'oto'o was the first true freshman to lead the Vols in tackles in a season opener since Dwayne Goodrich in 1996, according to the school.

In two games, To'oto'o has racked up 15 total tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss with one quarterback hurry.

Got to be a misprint. According to everyone on the radio and television. You can't play freshmen quarterbacks. They simply cannot handle the stress, don't know the playbook, their psyche's can be permanent damaged, the team around them will implode because they don't have the locker room, not to mention the obvious fact, they are freshmen. No team plays freshmen at the QB position, doesn't happen.

No one plays freshmen who are worse than the starter. We have played freshman qbs several times.

We don't have a highly rated freshman qb. It's amazing people don't realize we don't have a Trevor Lawrence or even a Bo Nix level freshman. If we did he would play.

I think what you are missing isn’t just talent but also what offense they ran in high school and their football IQ. Much different from HS than college.

The USC freshman (who's #7 on the list) has the same Scout grade (80) as Maurer...he was the #17 PP and Maurer was the #19 DT so similarly rated

And Tua in Championship game the year before. How can that happen?

Top rated 5 star talents? Lawrence was ranked #1 overall and Tua was the #1 qb in his class. Meanwhile, Maurer checked in at 508 and Shrout checked in at 694. I will admit that I don't consider rankings as the be all end all in assessing talent, but let's be honest here. There's a rather substantial gap in talent between those two guys and our qbs. Both are NFL players. Maybe our guys develop into NFL players in time, but unless the coaches love losing or simply want to cut their own throats professionally, it's inconceivable to me that they'd keep a better player on the bench after seeing what JG has done to date.

Isn't this the place where I'm told repeatedly that ratings don't matter. Pruitt recruited these guys, they aren't left overs. So, shouldn't they be good and capable. I'm not saying they are better, hell they may be terrible. But, 0-2, they couldn't have made that any worse. Banks got sent to bench for fumbles, Tim Jordan because he wouldn't hit the right holes. Other guys got a chance to get on the field to see what they could do. You're telling me that I should just accept that next year, JG is going to be our QB, again, with a probable 9-25 record with these guys behind him again with zero experience. Let me just say. Yay. Such a great thing to look forward to.

I'm sure that each of these freshmen that are playing this year must have been fortunate enough to have the exact same playbook that their eventual college teams had. I mean, that obviously matters. It did here with Quintin Dormady, a 4star, not a 3, who's father got the playbook from Butch and used it his senior year so he would be better prepared. That worked out didn't it. Tyler Bray, you're telling me he was high IQ and ran Chaney's offense in HS before he took over for a struggling Simms.

With "b-tool" back calling the defense formations and there helping "to to" with being in the best spot for the up coming play, To's productivity will likely increase.

JG is not a good QB.
Get over it...

His time ends TODAY!

Lol, true. Thank God they have a limit on how many years they can play or this guy might just stay here for ten.

Point is you don't know what they'll do until their in the game
Most cases you don’t want to find out under pressure. If we’re throwing Shrout or Maurer out there to COMPETE against UTC? Then it’s not ideal. If either or both enter after a comfortable lead and outperform the starter? Then that shorter leash can be a consideration.
