Top 10 Richest NIL Collectives

Vols throw $ to multiple sports, men and women and yes baseball. Other schools, like KY focus on a particular sport. Hence, we my not have the bucks for one sport to be top dog.

Talent-wise, Tennessee does very well in all sports except Football. We aren't getting the bang for our buck in Football. Still being out recruited by over half the SEC. Coaching/Development tends to be making up for it.

TV had that program winning and trending up before we were paying millions to 18 year olds to hit or throw a ball. To pretend that NIL bought that program is a lie.
No one is claiming that NIL made basketball and baseball national contenders. To remain so they must stay competitive with the NIL $$

If I ever hit the Powerball, I will put up $10 million a year for the Vol Sports and find a way to get a tax deduction in the process! lol

They need to tighten the belt on the women’s programs and force them to break even

I agree. This statement won’t be popular among many but they need to spend the money where they get the return. College sports are a business, more so now than ever. You don’t throw money at things that don’t pay off.

Well, if UT did that, we would have football & men's basketball to cheer for. The other sports don't make money. Maybe women's basketball....but barely.

These guys have such a good show.

It’s nice seeing we’re that high up on the list. Hopefully we’re putting it to work well.

Then a decision needs to be made. Being an everything school is great and all but if it doesn’t lead to championships then what’s the point?

To win the all sports trophy. I would not trade our situation for KY or GA. Each to their own.

Why should we let anyone call themselves a fan if they don’t contribute seven figures? Standards are standards.

I think this list may be accurate...but remember, this is just the collectives. If boosters want to drop a few million on a recruit like Underwood or Nate Ament, they can simply drop that money and it isn't coming from the collective.

So it may be true that Tennessee has the 2nd richest collective, but we're behind others in outright booster money.

This.

We're behind and will remain behind because some programs have extremely wealthy alums that are willing to pony up whatever is needed. It's very unlikely Phil Knight will be out bid. Several coaches have said so.

I’ve been trying to find one of those “All Sports Trophy” t-shirts or licence plates, but they seem to be sold out everywhere.

There is a less than zero percent chance that Tennessee has more NIL money than either Texas schools or Oregon. That’s just dumb
Regardless, we have the $$$ to play in top 10 arena. Seems we are being conservative quite frankly in the last portal round. However if that is how JH and white want to play it, blending more HS talent with portal they have the rope to do so.

I have a hard time believing the numbers being thrown out in the OP. If those numbers are accurate then, CJH isn't the answer because we should be recruiting in the top 5.

So screw all the other student athletes? Tells me all I need to know.
I have a difficult time seeing getting a full ride to college for playing a sport as getting screwed. It’s more than most students receive. I don’t see institutional NIL payments as something student athletes are entitled to if their sport doesn’t generate enough revenue to run in the black.

But then maybe you get to cheer for a football team that has a chance at a NC, instead of just a chance at getting smacked by upper tier teams in the playoffs.

They only way they would break even is if you start charging out the nose for tickets, premium seating, sponsorships, etc. and actually get people to pay those prices, or cut resources to the bone and drop the programs. Pick your poison.

Oh, then there's the Title IX thing.
