Gonna go out on a limb, but just maybe App st is a pretty good team and much better than the 68th ranking they have?!?!

Seldom does a team drop after winning. You also have to consider that teams ranked higher than UT may lose this weekend.

honestly I dont think we drop too far, definitely out of the top 10, but we are 1-0 I think like 11 at the highest 17 the lowest

Depends. Lots of potential for teams ahead of us to lose. I say we will be no worse than 12th.

And ones BEHIND us. Several are playing higher ranked teams this weekend.

Last year Auburn beat Jacksonville St 27-20 in OT and dropped from 6th to 18th in the AP poll. I don't believe we drop that much, but the polls are shaken up more early in the season.

I'll tell you what, I would rather have had a pre season rating somewhere around 15-20 than top ten. It would give the players something to shoot for instead of getting too cocky

At the start of the season, pollsters are like generals. Generals are always prepared to fight the last war; pollsters are voting the last season.

The thing is Appy State is a much better team than Jacksonville State by a wide margin. Appy would beat them (JAX St.) pretty handily. Appy state may not lose a game the rest of the year if they can knock off Miami at home.

Polls, schmolls. Dubyas, baby. Comparative opinion doesn't have any "humidity" until 8 games in.

How far do we drop in the polls this week?

Welcome to 2016. Where the AP poll means nothing. The playoff selection committee won't pay attention to it when they name the playoff teams, so why worry about it? The only folks it now matters to is a bunch of sportswriter idiots who have a vote, and rednecks who need other people to think for them.

Yeah I keep saying it over and over. And I will keep saying it until it sinks in. Join Pollaholics Anonymous. It works.

Polls suck and shouldn't even exist until week 8. I would rather have been where the gaturds are than where we are anyway.

15-18 IMO.
We'll get a much better gauge on how good Appy state really is in a few weeks when Miami comes to their house.

If we drop, it might just be to 10,11,or 12. The media wants the Bristol game to be big. A team outside of the 15 mark might not be so appealing. So it's in their favor for TN to still be ranked that high.

They'll most likely rank Appy State in the Top 20-25 mark to justify TN not slipping.
