The thing is Appy State is a much better team than Jacksonville State by a wide margin. Appy would beat them (JAX St.) pretty handily. Appy state may not lose a game the rest of the year if they can knock off Miami at home.

Welcome to 2016. Where the AP poll means nothing. The playoff selection committee won't pay attention to it when they name the playoff teams, so why worry about it? We'll get a much better gauge on how good Appy state really is in a few weeks when Miami comes to their house.

If we drop, it might just be to 10,11,or 12. The media wants the Bristol game to be big. A team outside of the 15 mark might not be so appealing. So it's in their favor for TN to still be ranked that high.

They'll most likely rank Appy State in the Top 20-25 mark to justify TN not slipping.
